We have to import our country music from a foreign country these days. I wonder if somebody at the grand old Opry got fired for actually putting on some country music? Fred is quite the wit. His songs are beautiful and powerful.

I've been enjoying Tif and Fred about two decades. I would follow them anywhere to hear her live once again. They brought the TRAVELING STEAM SHOW to Allegany County, NY. Back in the dead of Winter 2013 they rolled into WELLSVILLE in a big old red biodeisel powered bus. My appreciation of real music grew exponentially that dark and stormy night. THANK YOU FOLKS!

It is an experience once you do see him live. Saw him in a little record store unplugged and more than up close. Just hanging out with him and his band and his acoustic version of his stuff. Pretty cool

They are real, and super nice people with no hint of pretension. Whether on stage at the Ryman, or talking with them after a small town show somewhere you've never heard of, Fred anf Tif are two of the most kind and gracious performers you could actually hope to meet.

I have been fortunate enough to have seen Fred eaglesmith and Tif twice in little clubs ( I mean barely hold 100 people) and both xs after the show, they set and interacted with fans. not a pretentious bone in their bodies. 5 star people.

Was not a big fan of C&W... still not. But a friend recommended Fred so I went to see him with his band in a church. "Oh this is why people like country music." Still a big fan of Fred, an truth be told there are a sprinkling of country musicians I like, but not like Fred. He's the best... the real thing. Aside from being a great songwriter he's a dynamite arranger.

I have no issues with Fred having Tif as a wife. What I am questioning is...why would he put all of the people that got him to where he is out of work? That is no way to treat those that stood by your side through the tough times, doing the long tours for little pay. Staying on the road for months on end. Giving up your own kids baseball games, dance recitals, plays, whatever. Then the Star that pays you finds a very talented young lady and dumps the rest of you and breaks up the act. That just ain't right. Not right at all. That isn't what .being a true Country Music Star is. A true Grand Ole Opry Star stood by the side of those who got them there. Don't get me wrong. I am glad to see he made it but it is sad to see that he is so unworthy of the accolades that have cast upon him. He IS NOT what true Country Music is about and I seriously hope that they take away his membership. He is not worthy of it.
@guygallaway309310 ай бұрын
The first time I saw and met Fred (27ish years ago) he was on the road with the "Flying Squirrels" (Willie P Bennet and Ralph Shipper), just the three of them! Since then every incarnation of his bands has been key to the evolution of Fred's music and audience. I'm sure Fred along with his hundreds of thousands of fans have gotten a chuckle from your comment. His career was never about one "big show" at the Opry.
