Mr eagle smith, I drove for 13 years. Everything from otr to local flat bed. I got tired of working my life away. I attempted to live my dream after my divorce. My dream was to be a full time stock trader. I failed after two months. I drank too much for a little and got my money back by dumb luck. I worked 3 days again as a truck driver before I got lucky and got my 💰 back and I quit that job. So Monday Nov 9th I try again to get the water out of my fuel. I tear up every time I hear this song, it means a lot to me. Wish me luck to get out of that truck. I'm a part time CDL instructor, listen to me save your money and make a plan, it's no life long term. Get in and get out, live your life, trucking can get you ahead of the game until it steals your life. Invest, do a business don't stay in trucking long term. You'll be cold and bitter and lonely. Get your money and get out. I love all of you.. be safe and be careful

Lmao you sound like the people talking about oilfield..I been a driver since before they called it a cdl way before cdl.. and I been oil field for 20 years .. and I still have a flatbed and an old freight liner sitting here .. its legal and up to date for work ..I haven't put 500 mile on it in two years..mostly because I just don't want to..but I am dammed if I'm gonna do that stock trading shit .. lol ..I have decided the key to happiness is apathy..I just don't give a damn ...but hey I'm 59 and. No responsibilities.. I can afford to not care

I wish I had a little foresight as a younger man, I turn 39 on Nov 27, and trucking had afforded me great things in life. I've been to 11 countries and my shih Zhu has pissed in 46 states. I feel like there is a better way if you lift yourself and use your money to work for you. Learn and love and experience life

I just got my cdl. Just got thru my first year as a flatbeder. Quit that company and am "home". It's a damn lonely industry for sure. I should probably just stay on the road though. Every time I come home I always get myself into trouble. My plan is to get through today. Just get through each day. I've seen a lot of old truckers and most are bitter and angry. You're right. I find myself going in that direction...

The first time I heard Fred Eaglesmith was during a drive through Salt Lake City radio stations called KRCL 90.9. the song was Cementery Road, and that's when I fell in love with Country music.

Fred is great .I got turned on to him at a Austin city limit festival.. that i was unaware of.. ..what i mean is I was just riding around the country and called a friend of mine and she said well if your bored you can go. To san Antonio and see ray Willie Hubbard..or you could ride to Austin and see James mcmurtry... at the continental club ... at the continental club which is just a hpke I the wall bar james mcmurtry cameoff stage and was standing be hind me at the bar for a beer.. .I said hello and I been listen to you for years.. you should listen to me ..hesays well shit let's have a beer and you sing to me then!..so we did..at that age show imet two gals and they told me they were intown from Ashville Carolina.. and that it was austincity limits fest they were there to see ..cool..Sotheby's next Daltrey called me and isaidhow much are tickets to this thing..they said well we paid like 400 dollars on line months ago for the whole weekend and its sold out now..but we know someone who mayhaveanextra ..so they introduced me to this woman who said her husband had died and so he would be there inspire and after talking to me she had decided to just give me his ticket on the condition that I have a good time..how about that ?so I said well thanks but I didn't have any place to stay and rooms were all sold out over town..the girls that ihad met said .well just stay with us this weekend ...lol so it was a great weekend that just some how happened ..and they turned me onto Fred ..they said yup Fred writes about your life and you should listen ...
