Fred Mastro coaches the victim and arranges the victim in the "right place" and waits for an instruction from Fred - not a realistic scenario. Remember the victim is there to be a victim!! Don't you love "Fake Demos". Remember to tell your opponent where he needs to be placed and not to move while he doesn't do anything to defend himself. This is as useful as Wing Chung or Jett Kun Do or Aikido by Seagal they all have something in common the victim is told by Fred Mastro to take his place in certain way and then distracted while Mastro talks.

Thank you. I follow your channel and have subscribed. I request that there be English subtitles or ydescribed since you English is very good. If this can be called a 'one-hand' grab, then if the opponent uses his dominant [ right] hand to grab my "outside" left hand/arm, then it is simple to pull or come-along his hand and go for a throat lock/strike. Less frequently, suppose the oppenant uses a 'cross-arm grab', ie, his right crosses over his body and grabs my right hand. Pulling him closer obviously exposes his neck/jaw/temple with my left hand. Is there a technique to get a head/neck lock directly, or is it even suggested?

I agree. Do not give the attacker any energy to feed on or use. Use intelligence to shift the situation quietly in your favor like the soldier. Physical combat is the last resort.

What I am about to say is not really about the person demonstrating in this video but rather about the evolution of the martial arts in general. Back in the day years ago someone would achieve a very high level before opening a school or teaching. They would have a legitimate rank through a teacher of real status in the world that had real lineage from a strong and real blood line of learning and the understanding and knowledge as well as abilities that would amaze most. Or they would learn from a real master like Bruce Lee did but achieved greatness with experience and a high level of that past down knowledge...that's learning a skill level for you...Bruce Lee never even had a official rank in martial arts. Now these days anyone with 10 years experience through a "coach" or through a paper master or self proclaimed internet master opens a school or is a paper master themselves. Everyone that has a video camera on KZbin is an expert. Talking...entertainment...excitement ..sensationalism..Martial arts is more than a head butt..kick..punch or technique. Learning to paint by numbers has some purpose but is not mastery ..an artist is someone that is not just technically good. That is the way a normal black belt would look back in the day..now it seems to be a mastery level. The old boys and real experience are not here anymore. The dojo floor has become KZbin. The camera owners with some experience have even convinced themselves In their mind they are of a mastery level...Who said? they did? The viewers say? What does reality say? Not too many real masters around any more or people of real experience with a high level of knowledge.... Just modern sophisticated basics...effective enough in its own right but not seasoned with the understanding of the old world knowledge of the time past..that died with most of the old real masters of the past. These days everyone is a master....so much so that there are no students left.
