I have been mountain biking for 35 years, never owned a road bike, funny enough, I got a gravel bike today and started doing wheelies on my 1st ride today 😂😂😂 Actually quite funny! I noticed how the feathering of the rear brake is nearly useless with the wieght distribution on this bike. I just ease the pedaling and it falls back down quite fast . Any tips on brake control? Thanks!
@simonthomas-lakedistrictvelo19 күн бұрын
Maybe in your case you just don't need to feather, and the rear brake is just a safety mechanism in case you loop out . Enjoy the Gravel Bike and the wheelies too. Sounds like you've got it dialed 👌 Thanks for your message 👍

Shame the weather was like that 😮 I am still not convinced that the northwest has proper gravel routes, seems to be a mix of trail where an MTB would be better and road sections. But I just gotten a gravel bike , to add to a road bike and an MTB . So will be trying some of these routes. From ☀️Blackpool
@simonthomas-lakedistrictvelo3 ай бұрын
Yeh I know what you mean, in the Lakes we have mountain biking routes the are just more challenging on a Gravel Bike yet you can do them with the road sections to link them up and also you can ride from home without tapping out a high heart rate pushing a draggy full suspension bike around. Gravel bikes allow you to ride pretty much anything but as in life there are tools specifically for each task but you could still hit a nail into a piece of wood with a screwdriver 🤣 Gravel is out there if you want it ie fire access roads in forests but that could get alittle boring if that's all we did. Enjoy the new bike and ride it everywhere, even on Gravel in Lancashire there will be some cracking routes that the bike will be perfect for 👍 Thanks for messaging 🙏

Kirkstone is steady if you go from Troutbeck (Holbeck Lane from the Low Wood Hotel is steep) and the view from the top is Great 👍 Becareful coming down as it can be very fast.
