The dude signed up for the show. I'm sure he had to sign contracts with extremely specific and detailed sections that released the BBC from any liability if he crashed a car. But the BBC certainly should have disclosed all of the details of the incident to the public. They are a publicly funded entity... essentially a division of British government. AND they are a NEWS organization... and this incident is OBVIOUSLY newsworthy. The media in Britain should sue the BBC to force them to release the details, any footage of the crash, the original contracts and disclosures and releases--and details of any settlement.

Such a great bloke, but it just shows that messing about in fast cars can have consequences. Hammond was nearly killed .... twice. Freddie was lucky to get away with his life. Both had accidents which involved stopping a fast car using their head and face. Hammond was wearing a helmet, Freddie wasn't. If you roll a Morgan 3-Wheeler then you're basically using your head as the brakes until it stops. Dicking about in a Morgan without a helmet is no more sensible than dicking about on a Motorbike without a helmet. I realise that the BBC were found liable, but he's also a fully grown adult with a lot of time spent working with Top Gear safety teams. Anyhoo .... I'm glad he's made the recovery he has, and gets a 2nd chance.
