Do they offer a "deluxe funeral" package where your relatives can quickly take off wheels, suspension arms, etc. so it can be fit into a regular size grave? This could be a deal breaker.

that package comes as standard. you lose the external parts on impact, and because it is made of wood you can used it for cremation on a stop.

It’s as if these clowns know nothing of the Morgan three wheel history or modern day historic racing capability. Colin Chapman designed a three wheel F1 car and I believe versions or a version was built. It was the physics of no inside rear wheel lift that appealed, plus, being Chapman, weight saving. I have built and driven a three wheeler (the two wheels at the front naturally) and you’d have to try hard to flip it. I’m used to Americans saying their tools are best and their cars are best. Watch any Top Gear test of any American car more than ten years ago and sarcasm was the norm. Classically, Captain Slow’s sum up of the Chrysler Crossfire, “The slower you go, the better it is.”

You're paying for the look at styling of that silly thing that's why its expensive. If you had money to burn the mono bac makes is the pinnacle of not actually buying a motorcycle. The bac is like a f1 car and a motorcycle meet. This thing here is just a death box on 3 wheels.

Back in 2015 and again 2017 I've traveled to our neighboring country (Austria) to rent the 3 wheeler for an extended weekend and promptly did almost 3000 km (1800 mi) in total, going from Vienna to Slovenia's countryside and mountain ridges, experienced 35°C (95°F) heat while driving through Vienna, pouring rain while doing 100 km/h (62 mph) on the Austrian autobahn and driving at 6°C (42°F) through Slovenia at 3 am in the morning trying to return the 3 wheeler in time to Vienna, not feeling my face anymore and not seeing anything 10 m in front due to front lights being absolutely worthless (wearing sunglasses to protect your eyes from razor blade sharp cold wind also doesn't help). The handling becomes a lot better once you overcome your fear of impending doom (and not looking at the front tires almost unnatural flexing during hard cornering) and you start trusting it. Like Mark said, it is basically the worst go-kart in the world and it performs this role flawlessly. I've surprised quite a lot of Alfa/BMW drivers through the mountain roads following them doing 100-120 km/h seeing their awe struck faces at the end of the road seeing this little coffin following them. Its either that or the fact I looked like a pale ghost being scared shitless doing such speeds as mentioned in the video, cornering at 60 mph feels like you're doing 200 mph at Le Mans. Max speed I dared to go was around 150 km/h (90+ mph) which feels like you're on the brink of death, the chain driving the back wheel rattling and vibrating in the transmission tunnel so violently you get the feeling the car will disintegrate to pieces right under you. Do not drive (or own) this car if you have an introverted personality. You draw crowds everywhere - people stop at crosswalks to take a picture, every stop at the gas station becomes a meet where strangers think you're the long lost crazy and fun uncle that they miss in their lives and what to chat about everything. There can be a literal pink Aventador with an enormous dildo stuck on the roof parked next to you and no one will even notice it. Just be sure where you're headed and don't get lost like I did in Vienna, forcing me to do a U-turn in a dead end street, which takes ages in a 3 wheeler due to absolutely pathetic turning radius, drawing a crowd of 30+ tourists taking pictures... Out of 50+ cars (from Golf R's to 430 Scuderia) I've driven in my 36 year lifespan, this is the best car I've ever had the privilege of piloting and hopefully, someday, I will save enough money to eventually own one. P.S: this car is best summed up by its fuel gauge - it shows 100% or 90% of fuel left for ages and then suddenly it drops to zero, causing you to panic and scramble to find the nearest gas station only to find that you managed to squeeze in only half of the tank (fuel tank capacity is 42 liters/11 gal). Then you ask the owner of the vehicle and they laugh at you, explaining that the fuel gauge is mostly cosmetic as it sits in the tube that connects 2 separate tanks and it shows 0% fuel remaining when you still have half a tank available. Ask me how I know....

My UK model is 85hp, its not designed to match a modern day car rather to allow the driver the feel of traditional motoring of the past, when I drive in London I'm always greeted by huge smiles, if I park near a supercar g/teed a crowd will gather to look at the Morgan first.

Was cross shopping this with a couple other options as a daily driver. I can't tell by this video if the Morgan is still something I should consider for my commute?

I have no idea why but in the final thoughts when Jack said the car’s made of wood and can be used as a coffin and then cut to the clip of the guy crying at the cemetery I cracked up. Also, the Morgan sounds pretty good!
@grahamchivrall30
@grahamchivrall30 Жыл бұрын
There is not much wood in it. They are grossly over engineered and heavier than the pre-1952 Morgan three-wheelers. Three wheeler Morgans are just the job for motoring fun is an age of ludicrously low speed limits.

I owned a 3-wheeler for 5 years and enjoyed it a lot. You guys in the US have no idea of what "having fun while driving" is, otherwise you would not buy the pick up trucks you are driving😄 Greetings from Italy

This has not got the views it deserves but if you ever question why you do these just watch this video. You can say to yourself “I made this because no one else would.”. Richard Hammond made this look glorious. You’re a lonely voice of reality. Please never stop.

Every turn is an adventure in this thing. People often say that the joy of driving something like an MX-5 is that it isn't so powerful that you can't drive it anywhere near its limits legally on public streets. This vehicle takes that thinking to an entirely absurd level.

True. It would only be worth owning if you could drive it on interesting roads with minimal traffic. Being stuck in traffic with one of these would be horrible.

I would recommend checking out the Vanderhall Venice/Carmel. Its a vehicle that I feel takes all the best parts of a Morgan and fixes a lot of its flaws. On top of that brand new, starts at 30k. I purchased one due to seeing it on Jay Leno's garage and cannot tell you the feeling I get when driving it. Great video work as always, the touches of quality automotive cinematography is what I love seeing instead of a boring review of "oh this part is scratchy plastic, I don't like that." Thank you for that.

My "ah-ha" moment came when I saw that yes, by golly, they both fit in the car at the same time. I was on the edge of my seat -- as doubtless were they! I like looking at Morgan 3 wheelers. I'd like to drive one. I don't like either of those $45K. I'll keep my Super 7 with its Lotus twincam. It too is a coffin waiting to happen, but at least it goes around corners.
