His Agent never told him that he gave the Braves a final offer, take it or leave it, and need to know within the hour. The Braves counter-offered, it was not accepted by the Agent, so they assumed Freddie was leaving. They signed the only other First Baseman in Free Agency close to Freddie, before even Olson got snatched up by another team. The sad part is, the Agent never told Freddie about the contract the Braves offered. He didn't even know the negotiations were over until he heard the Braves signed Olson. That's why Olson signed with the Braves, before Freddie signed with the Dodgers. His Agent forced the Braves to go elsewhere, never told Freddie about the counter-offer, made Freddie believe the Braves screwed him, and left Freddie no choice but to sign with the Dodgers. Yep, Freddie and Braves country got screwed. Love Olson, but he is not Freddie.

I see it as he had his weekend to say goodbye and thanks to the fans. If he gets that way again then it's definitely a problem and as long as it doesn't effect his play. Also I think it's such a big issue is because the media won't stop talking about it.

I’m pissed. This should be over, if he wants to go back trade him for Olsen. I heard this story after he signed so to regirgevitvis Nd....stop please. If you want out fine, I will pay for your trip home. I will take Olsen in a heartbeat....peace, out

What took him so long? And he should have looked at the contract himself! When I was buying and selling my home I always looked at the contract myself! He did not have to sign that contract!

The entire time I have seen Freddie with the Dodgers he does not seem happy
@jonnytheboy73382 жыл бұрын
When you're talking that kind of money for losing bids, I have no sympathy for any player if they end up unhappy. Because ultimately they went with the money. If you can't be happy with 140 million for 5 years with all that emotional attachment to a team? I don't really know the whole story but don't need to, he had to have seen the details of the contract when he signed it . Too bad pal , that money ( Braves offer) is enough for several generations of your family.. Oh, and I'm not a fan of the Braves, but Freddie Freeman is a Brave and he should have stayed that way.. it literally seems as simple as him telling his representation that they just have to work out the best deal they can with the braves,.

At the end of the day the agents goal is to get what's best for their client and that doesn't just mean money
@bruceperez16342 жыл бұрын
Freeman got less money in LA than what Braves offered him. His agent tried to bluff the Atlanta Braves management and did ask for more money. Braves bailed out and traded for Olson instead.

I think deferred money is great! It gives you a future income; why does anyone need a 160 million up front??? Why didn't you explain WHY didn't offer more money and an extra year? That's what I want to know

The dodgers will use Freddie, he'll never be to the organization what he was to Atlanta.

I really hope Dodger fans can give Freeman a little latitude on this. He will be the most amazing team member as well as producer for the clubhouse. Just give the man a grace period.

As a Dodger fan, as much as we love him, his heart and his accomplishments are with the Braves and it hurts to see him only with us because his agent screwed him over rather than him wanting to be here. Best we can do is use his help to win a title for him.
