Literally, exactly as one of the other commenters said, Freddie's agent, Casey Close, did not disclose to Freddie the Braves' final offer, as well as did not tell Freddie about the ultimatum Close gave to Alex Anthopolous. Casey Close absolutely went around his client's back, and negotiated against his client's wishes, to benefit his self. Freddie expressed so, so many times, over and over, in the press throughout the post-season and after the Series, that he had no wish to go anywhere else, he 100% intended to retire a Brave, and he trusted that his agent would work in his interest to get him the best deal. This is completely messed up, this guy Casey Close deserves to lose every single client he has, ESPECIALLY one very big one, Dansby Swanson. Dansby needs to fire this man IMMEDIATELY, if not sooner.

Now Vlad was a touch below average, -3 DRS in 96 games, granted he hasn't played much game at 3rd in 3 years, he's also a lot more fit now than he was in 19 so I'm willing to bet that a touch below average defense is fine and would be expected if they did that.

It will be interesting to see what Freddie's stats are in that 6th year. Is he going to go out like Pujols or David Ortiz?
@Fater45112 жыл бұрын
They offered a 6th year but basically the same dollar figure I would rather make my money in 5 years than 6. also freeman gets a bunch deferred. 57 million deferred. he basically is getting 17.5 million and paying more taxes for it. vs. 27-28 million for the braves

Freddie had been with the Braves for over 10 years. He has relationships with everyone in the front office. At any time prior to signing, he could have picked up the phone and said "I want to stay, lets get this done." He didn't do that. Freddie owns this one.

passan is 100%. a few years from now, all of this will be nothing. let's don't forget, freddie grew up in orange country. it isn't like freddie is totally in a new place. also, didn't freddie say something like now his grandfather can watch his game anytime he wants to.

You’re completely missing the point. He wanted to stay in Atlanta and he had every right to be there. His agent betrayed him any way you look at it. The agent works for the player, not the other way around.

Pretty telling how highly the Braves guys haven’t really had a big embrace with him, and have spoke about Olson who’s asked to do a tough job fillin Freddie’s shoes. With the Acuña stuff, and the buzz behind the scenes seeming to to imply that Freddie was much more of an unlikable diva with young Braves than the media portrayed him as the teams leader, makes it interesting to see a fan favorite supposed legend receive cold treatment from the clubhouse and management and even Kershaw afterwards.

I think alot of those acuna rumors were blow out of proportion by the media trying drum up drama
@KirbySmartsFakePunt2 жыл бұрын
I don't think he received cold treatment, he literally had multiple ovations and spoke with the gm...plus Kershaw is a dbag. Won't even be with the dodgers next season. He's descending.

Imagine Acuna Jr. calling somebody else a diva- that’s rich 😂
@KirbySmartsFakePunt2 жыл бұрын
@@johnrambo3831 Freddie was more of a diva than Acuna? Can't really classify Acuna as a diva so idk what you're getting at. He makes the game more fun but he's not a diva in the media by any stretch. Freddie isn't either but his recent actions are more diva than anything acunas ever done

Eisen of the long pause, you seem to me to be exaggerating your self imitations more by the week. Nothing wrong with passing along gossip. Passon to the contrary. Gossip is a big reason why some of us follow you. But this with Freeman, your coverage is as much snide sanctimony as juicy tidbits. More Ring Lardner, less Hedda Hopper, please.
