A lot of rappers switch up flows live where there's a lot of energy being used moving around the stage, having to perform an entire set tiring out the lungs more than recording a single verse in a studio setting. Spitting a double-time flow live without replacing words with pauses for breaths - not just any rapper can do that.

@el_mal_de_ojo it absolutely takes more to do on stage (depending on the type of performer) but a professional can do their songs my man. I was just on stage with twista this summer, my man don't miss a beat. Redman same thing. unfortunately I have yet to meet freddie gibbs but he is a talented performer, i would expect no less. I watched his show in 2019 when bandana came out, he is great live. granted he skips filler words as many do, no issue with that, but I would put his show up there with Nas, Wu Tang, Kendrick Lamar (probably my favorite show I've been to, he went for 3 hours straight & by 2017 he did NOT have to do that. plus YG dapped me up lol so that puts it up there). Anyway, my point is that I would feel borderline disrespectful if I said I was surprised freddie gibbs can do his songs live. I would be surprised & disappointed if he couldn't keep up with his own songs live. he's a great artist & performer & has only gotten better over the past 15 years.

Last weekend I saw Nas, one of the best to ever do it, and he was using filler words and ad libs. Doesn't diminish his greatness. My experience of seeing Freddie Gibbs in 2018 I believe is that he spit his entire set, every verse, with no fillers, even fast flows like on this video. It takes an elite-level MC to do that on the go, outside a studio setting. I really don't see how my original comment can be taken as disrespectful towards Freddie Gibbs.

Madvillainy is cartoony and goofy at times and has the best wordplay and lyricism i've ever heard. While Pinata is one of the best street gangsta rap albums i've ever heard. Kinda incomparable for me but both are def in my top 5 all time
