There is just a handful of actors who can share screen space with 100 other people and make all of them fade into the background and draws your undivided attention. Freddie Highmore is one of these actors.

actually, if an actor makes all the other actors fade into the background and draws our undivided attention, then he/she is not a very good actor. A good actor knows how to share the stage/screen with the rest of the cast as appropriate for the scene. Freddie does that. He has an undeniable presence but he does not overshadow anyone else. This show has a great group of actors that all shine.

I was so sad that Norma actually died at the end of season 4. You knew it had to happen eventually, but it was still sad because I hope that Norma can be more insane now that shes dead. BTW, the eye gluing scene was freaky! I think both Freddie and Vera deserve Emmys, long overdue

Can Freddie Highmore be more perfect? I've been a fan of his since Finding Neverland and I've followed him all the way up til now. I'm still, to this day, amazed by his level of talent. And his genuine nature. He's one of the good ones!!!! We all should keep supporting him!

In the Alfred Hitchcock's version they buried a weighted coffin but i think Bates Motel did it so much better by having Norman rob her grave. That was so much darker, more morbid. Freddie Highmore is an exceptional actor to really make you feel the weight of that situation.

i honestly can't wait to see how their version of the psycho story will go in season 5. i'm just binging the actors opinions on the show atm. i also loved the episode freddie wrote. he made norman so sassy and literally made romero say "im a magical unicorn". that was pure gold.

Thanks for this interview, Tom! Love PSYCHO lore... love this series (although, it did take me a few episodes way back during the first season to let go of established expectations and allow the retelling to be its own entity). The 4th season finale was an emotional payback on a very grand scale.

Its so cool to me, to think, as I like to put it, Freddie and I "grew up together". Growing up, the first movie I saw him in was Charlie and the chocolate factory. Then I watched August Rush, that movie was sooo amazing to me. Very inspiring. So, him and I are Aquarius kids/adults now. hehe We are February babies! haha Meeting mr. Highmore would be quite the dream come true. :) He's an incredible actor and an amazing guy im sure. ♡♡♡ Bates Motel is an incredible show, he plays Norman so so well! He's so fascinating. :) You all should see, The Art Of Getting By. Its a great movie! So cute! Love this guy...

I absolutely loved this tv show. So much that I ordered all seasons on dvd. Just patiently waiting for season 5 in the mail. When I like a show, I watch it numerous times. The acting on everyone's role was done superbly. I only wish it would have been aired on tv longer, say 9 seasons?

From Season 2 my favorite episode 10 " The Immutable Truth " connects so clearly with the finale of Season 4. Freddie Highmore delivers such a raw, natural & brilliant performance an emotional roller coaster from day one of this incredible tv show💯🎬 I absolutely adore Freddie and Vera Farmiga what a dynamic duo!! 🎉👍🙌 I have been a big fan of Freddie since his 1st movie Women talking dirty. Looking forward to more high powered and fantastic journey ahead #teamHighmore 💟✔ God bless and be with you Freddie Higmore thank you very much for being a role model #bravo #welldone 🙌

Absolutely incredible. All 5 seasons. Vera and Freddie are superb talents. The finale, Norman jabbed that knife in the wall. He wanted to go. The scenes of meeting his mother and the final “ thank you “ to his brother was a real tear jerker. Another great story line was Sons of Anarchy. Cracked me up Ryan get killed every show he’s on. Lol. Go Opie. Lol

i will miss Norma and Norman, great show. glad it lasted 5 seasons though I could have taken more. bye Freddie, Vera, Nestor, Max and Olivia and to "Chick" in the last season he almost became a decent guy ( almost ) it's not the type of show i usually watch, but my daughter ,now 27, when she saw a preview of 1st show, season 1 , hearing Norman call Norma " mother' was what peaked her interest,, it's the only show we watched together, I will miss bates motel,. the movie Psycho was too creepy for me, thou it was out when I was a very young child
@DayDreamBeliever19617 жыл бұрын
I think it was Stanislavsy (but i wouldn't swear to it) that said, the way to make a scene more gripping and memorable and interesting is to ask "Where is the love in this scene?" There is real love between these characters; it might be damaged, twisted and crazy love but it's love, nonetheless. That's why we love and root for Norma and Norman.

Something about Freddie, perhaps the lips, chin and way he articulates, as well as the pace he uses in his speech reminds me so much of Tom Odell in interviews it makes me wonder if they're related or something. Norman is a character personally care for, in spite of him being a serial killer, because he's not malicious, he's tried, he's struggled to be good and his not in control of himself either. He's damaged by life circumstances and life circumstances affect people differently. Norma is the same to me, she's tried to be a good mum, made mistakes and wrong choices, but she's tried so hard to be a good mum.
