Went to see him in Detroit September 2023, he was much worse than this. People were walking out. I felt so sad for him. Freddie, it’s time to retire! Still love your music. ❤

This was a very undignified performance! No one should've been walking past or thru the performance.

Freddie will always be our legend, but, however, so much of him has changed. This is almost heart breaking.

The Legend Freddie Jackson.....He is older now and was probably working a lot doing several shows a day and is trying to reserve his energy so he can do several shows. Black people tend to think the worse....the whiteys have conditioned you to think this way. Please try and be more positive. And...this is one of our few music Legends LEFT...so please try and be respectful. He has given us so much musically....and has always carried himself as a gentleman....and he's a very nice human being.....

Agreed denise divva. It's now 2020, and I challenge any of the CRITICS & HATERS to do whatever you think you're so good at at anything close to this level at 65 years of age (and still selling out venues). Personally I am amazed at his breathing stamina. He still holds a note for as long as I have ever seen. Also in case you don't know, real artists don't seek to sound just like their records, but to share how they feel "in the moment" right then. And if you're looking for insight about FJ's health or whatever, then check out his video podcasts at freddiejackson.libsyn.com/website. Peace-Love-Bless

We wish him well. However clearly he is not physically and vocally healthy to carry on with performing. His legacy is great! Amazing vocal ability and songs he gave us for years.

xfiler2013 - keep in mind these are New Yorkers. God could be up at the mike and they would amble past right in front of him, then stop, look him up and down (unimpressed) and walk away pickin' their teeth!

Lol. Yes it is one of my main issue when I shoot these concerts. People see the cameras but they just don't care. I just have to keep my cool but I"m glad that you are venting for me about this. :-)
@ariesgirl.6 жыл бұрын
I just could't believe what my eyes were seeing! Lol. Well, your camera quality was nice with clean edits that phased into the next section well. You did a great job of capturing everyone on stage to make them feel included, while making Freddy the main focus. Keep up the good work! --Compliments from an observant woman.
@gerardschmidt57956 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot for this. FYI, the organizers of Smooth Jazz New York are friends and we did those captations to keep a video trace of those great performers. But there was almost no budget, the lighting sucked, the editing had to be done super fast and the general conditions were harsh. This is only a two camera shoot with some of my film students helping me as we couldn't pay professional established cam ops. We did our best. Thanks again for appreciating the work.
