As flamboyant as he was, he seemed so genuine, humble, and down to earth in interviews.
@liliano42865 жыл бұрын
He's said before that was his stage persona. He often said in interviews that off stage he's just a normal human being. One who loves to have fun and hang out with friends and everything and yes, very high energy, but the "flamboyance" was all part of his job as a front man. He also said what people consider "flamboyant" to him is just normal. The man just basically marched to the beat of his own drum in every facet of his life and I love him for that. Enternally grateful to him and to the universe for gifting us with him for 45+eternity years. Long live Freddie 💖

He also said he needed to find something to GRAB people's attention and the spandex and make up in the early days is " What Worked "!! He was a man of very high intelligence and intensity! He just seemed to know what his fans wanted!! His Video's show the changes every step of the way , from the 70's right to the end almost. I so grateful that when asked what he wanted to be filmed , he replied " Just film EVERYTHING, we can edit it later"!! Wow!! For the new fans it is wonderful for them to be able to see that and know he really was just doing his job and that was not who he really was!! It's too bad that in one interview , the one that is mentioned here he also said " I just want people to realize , I'm a Human Being "!! To have to tell people , remind them of something they should have already known on their own is really sad!! I have been a fan for over 36 years and saw the tabloids and the absolutely nasty things being reported about him!! It's all true about Paul Prenter too!! I remember reading the paper when he called Freddie's home " AIDS LODGE" And not Garden Lodge!! What a beast!! 💔💔

UsedCondomCollector actually, him being Indian/Persian brought a lot of representation into the music business, he also brought a lot of lgbtq+ representation, and being a huge public figure who was lost to AIDS (not to mention the charity for AIDS research in his name raised so much money for the cause) actually gave people more motivation to find a treatment. upon this he also influenced fashion and he’s also, of course, regarded my most as on of the greatest frontmen to ever exist. he made the world a more accepting place so for a lot of people including myself, he did, in fact, change the world.

How lucky I was to have come up during the live Queen era. I LOVED Freddie’s showmanship & outrageous outfits. Through pure luck, I ended up seeing Queen live - FIRST ROW, front & center!. My memory for dates is awful; I believe it was 1982, in the N.J. arena I’ll always remember as Brendan Byrne or the Meadowlands. My high school friend’s older brother ended up with an extra ticket when his friend backed out.. I asked or was asked if I wanted to go....Hell YES! Freddie & Queen were my idols! Felt like I could’ve reached out & wiped the sweat from Freddie’s face. Best concert I’ve ever been to. I certainly couldn’t have afforded front row tickets in high school! Billy Squier opened for Queen (loved him too). Even tho super loud, the experience was beyond magical. To me, Freddie was a sexy god with a voice that shattered my soul in THE BEST WAY EVER. I was heartbroken when I heard Freddie’s life was robbed by AIDS. Queen as a band was magical. Last year I reconnected with my HS friend via social media. Her brother who took me to the concert was in a NY hospital for cancer related surgery. When my friend asked if I remembered her brother after 39 years, I answered “Of course....J took me to see Queen; first row!” She gave me his # and asked if I’d give her brother a call for support. When she told J I was going to call, his 1st words were “of course I remember K; I took her to the Queen concert, 1st row tickets!”. We had the best 2 hour chat. My long haired rocker friend grew up to be a brilliant man. We were going to keep in touch after he recovered completely from his surgery. My heart broke in pieces when I learned the cancer took his life shortly after the surgery. 2 amazing men taken way too soon. Whenever I listened/listen to Queen, both J & Freddie were/are with me. They always will be, even more so now.

Freddie did have Persian ancestry through his father's lineage. His mother was Indian, but his ancestry was mostly Parsi. Look it up. Mercury's family were "Parsi" and he was born in Zanzibar and raised in India until his mid-teens before they moved to England. "Parsi" refers to a member of the larger of the two Zoroastrian communities in South Asia and India. The present-day Parsis descend from a group of Persian Zoroastrians who immigrated to South Asia during 8th century AD due to persecution in post-Islamic Iran. "Iranis" are the other Indian-Zoroastrian community with Persian roots but they came from Iran more recently. So Mercury's Iranian lineage needs tracing for some 1200 years. He can perhaps be more properly called of "Indian-Zoroastrian" heritage.
@raj1029455 жыл бұрын
Yes, Freddie was extremely good looking North Indian are a mix, in general, and thats why they are much lighter in skin colour than south Indians. I know many Parsis and their ancestors go back generations in India. They are happy to be Indian. I am a huge fan, but we dont really need him to be linked to our country if he was so ashamed of it and he clearly was.

"Who Wants To Live Forever"? While Freddie is no longer with us in the flesh his memory is burnt into our hearts and he will live forever in our souls. He was the greatest Rock Showman ever, his singing/ songwriting and Stage presence was never seen before or since. When Freddie was made they broke the mould and we will never see his like again. In the studio, on stage where ever Freddie was he was one of kind and I am proud to be a massive fan of Queen especially Freddie and so glad I was around in the 70s/80s to witness the phenomenon that was Freddie Mercury and Queen. Rest Easy Freddie thanx for all the Fab music and for filling my life with your glorious presence on God's Green Earth. Rock On In Heaven King Freddie The Greatest Showman EVER!

3:00 - i love how Freddie talks about how the concert performances deliver something different than the studio version because that's one thing of the great things about Queen. You get multiple version of songs - the amazing studio version as well as the versions performed live. In my Queen playlist, i have at least 2-3 versions of several songs because each one gives you something unique. An extended vocal or piano intro, Freddie improving with the lyrics, an added guitar section or drum solo, etc. Queen are the first band where i actually prefer the live performances to the studio recorded tracks. :)

Freddie, hope you know that Brian does you proud on Love Of My Life live in concert. And that Adam does nothing but show respect for you. ❤️ I wasn’t quite sure how I’d feel going to concert but came out happy at the love and respect shown to you from your band. ❤️ Queen fans, if you can see concert, do. Take it from one who still, and always will, adores Freddie.

Freddie Mercury was a rather "deep" guy. I love that he gives others as well as himself credit for the success of Queen. He had this incredible, otherworldly talent. He was Queen's frontman and in my opinion, he did it better than most, but he very un-arrogantly admitted that he was not the leader of Queen but rather all members of Queen were their own leaders. I could respect that he could speak up when the songs written by other Queen members weren't as good and in turn they could agree when a song wasn't yet where it should be. No doubt arguments issued but they seemed to always compromise for the greater good. THAT is the ingredients of success in that one can allow others to spread their wings, to be great, respect the effort of others as your efforts are being heard, respected and considered for the betterment of the collective, their group. Queen. Their meeting, the start of Queen, their eventual resulting legacy, was not by accident. It was clearly touched by divine order. Great success was their destiny. As a result, we were blessed to have enjoyed their season together. Thank God! Rest In Peace. Freddie Mercury and thanks to the remaining members of Queen for giving us some of the most epic, entertaining music ever. All this, and I'm not necessarily a rock and roll fan. But I really liked Queen.

mimzy1124 Lassiter well I think he was just being honest. He didn’t write all the songs. They were NOT just his back up band. They were a perfect storm, and he acknowledged that, as he well should have, and did. They were a team.

mimzy1124 Lassiter I agree. They did Rock n Roll like no other. He was a shooting star, in a fleeting moment. If only this ... if only that. If only he had Great people around him when he was "truly Alone" We could all say that "if only" I think at Live Aid when he said MoMA I've got to go, gotta leave this world behind to face the truth, he was referring to himself there. RIP Freddie M. As you said "I love you" with a wave like only you could do in your last video. You were telling Everyone" I love you!"

Hanna Kin In some of these wonderful interviews, he speaks of a time when he won’t be able to “jump all over stage”’. He said also in some that he wouldn’t be around to grow old. These spoken words seemed to be uttered long before that awful disease took him way too soon. So many beautiful souls taken much too soon with the onset of HIV & AIDS. If only scientists of recent years could have discovered the treatments back in Freddie’s time. He was pure genius. Queen was genius & I was broken-hearted when Freddie died. His legacy & music will live on forever thankfully.
