@@francopoveda4264 and not only that, after thousands of hours listening to him and all his concerts, one can notice what his comfortable range was and it was clearly a baritone range. He could move very well into higher notes though, and he did it soo well.

i am a big fan of Freddie and i have the same vocal range with him, i can tell you singing those high notes and these low ones are not crazy, it's very normal and common for all talented singers ;) You ca check my KZbin channel where i sang some of Freddie songs in original tunes (no pitch or something)

@@anniegetchergun if you know anything about singing or registers or vocal technique you would know that he isn't a natural baritone, yes his voice got really dark and his range got lower in the 80s but that's because of overuse, drinking, smoking, and nodules. an actual baritone would be able to hit low notes like in this video with a lot of support and power, and freddie doesn't hit these notes with a ton of power. it's double tracked which makes it sound stronger, but it's still breathy and weaker than what a baritone would be able to do

Enjoyed your reactions. My favorite Queen song is Flick of the Wrist. It's like a precurser to Death on Two Legs, describing the pitfalls of signing a contract with the wrong manager. Best seen live at the Rainbow, 1974.

Hey apprenciate the Freddie content, however it is clear that the audio track has been slowed down in the mixing process and so has gone one semitone down. This DID alter Freddie's tone giving him a darker, almost unrecognizable quality (used for effect in the backing vocals). If you play it 1 semitone up and at about 105% speed you get a pretty good idea on what the unaltered vocals sound like.

This is created by running the tape machine at a high speed, then record his vocal and turn it at a normal speed. This is also done with "In The Lap Of The Gods"
@ProfDanielVargas

No, that was done with "In the lap of the Gods" only. This was Freddie singing in his lower register for "Flick of the wrist", if you notice there are no pitch artifacts nor residual digital interference.

@@ProfDanielVargasIt was not recorded digitally, I have the stem here, it is too low to be natural, on this album they played a lot with tape pitch.
@ProfDanielVargas

@@DasTarD You have the stem, then you must know. It doesn't sound like the "In the lap of the Gods" tracks; it shouldn't be difficult to notice if you also have the stems and multittacks for that and this song as well, play them side by side. About the digital naming, that'sthe nomenclature, that's how it's called if it was recorded after 1973. It's a digital recording, even if the technology doesn't match today's digital recording, all albums, after a certain time period, the literal vynil records say "digital recording" or something along those lines, look it up.

@@frostmusicofficial ...Obviously he recorded the vocal track in the upper octave separately, yes, but the "low part" isolated in this video was recorded slightly faster (ONE SEMITONE UP originally) and then slowed down the tape so it matched the song's tempo and key. It was a widespread practice in those days and yes Queen has done it to, most notably "Goin' Back" by Freddie
no wonder he is a hollywood legend
