Isle of Wighter here, so nice that you had a good time. It really is a lovely place - you went past my house! I also worked at Appuldurcombe house, it is seriously haunted, sometimes at night you can hear music playing even though there is no electricity. I used to lock it up at night and said goodnight to the ghosts when it was dark. I've got some amazing pictures of orbs, but then the I.O.W is famous for being haunted.

@@FreddieDobbs It is, but nothing terrible has happened to be honest, and I've stayed at several hauneted places and seen weird stuff. Just spooky stuff. There was a ghost hunting TV series with a bonkers man who went to Appuldurcombe House and claimed to see the spirits of loads of virgins that were sacrificed there. Umm. where did he get them from? Even now Wroxall, Ventor and Godshill are pretty small.... But then he was discredited and well no-one here took it at all seriously.

Fabulous film again. If you want another adventure get over to Kerry in SW Ireland and do the Wild Atlantic Way. Give yourselves 5 days. The travel days are easy enough - just London to Fishguard in Wales for the ferry, then a short hop cross country in Ireland to get started. It's not too expensive and the roads are gorgeous and empty during the day. With your filming you'll capture it in ways most people fail to do.

Saw this because of IOW as my family and I are all going there in August. I think what people should know the water from the mainland to the island is the most expensive bit of water anywhere in the world. I am 67 and disabled for me and my car in August return journey was just under £200 for the ferry. By the time we added on my families cars it was just under £700 for three cars just to cross over to the island. None of us have ever been to the IOW but are really looking forward to it as it will be my first holiday since I fractured my spine in 2008. It was a lovely video and just to let you know the cottage we have rented for the week for the 8 of us is also thatched.
@MeTube33 жыл бұрын
Most accommodation providers on the Isle of Wight include the crossing in the price or they book your ferry using their trade price access. I’ve never paid anything near £200, most ever was £135 return for car and four people when I had to travel at peak time. So less than £35 per passenger.
@FreddieDobbs3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for sharing the Sue!

@@MeTube3 unfortunately Andrew our accommodation does not help with the crossing cost as that was the first thing I asked because I know some can get discount. The only discount I received was £10 for being disabled.

@@MeTube3 I am not certain but we rented through Sykes Cottages and believe the property is owned by The National Trust; well the cottage is in the middle of the land they own. It has managers who live on site some reviewers call them the owner some say the NT but until we get there I don’t know. I cannot understand why a bridge or tunnel has never been built because the Ferry owners certainly have the monopoly on prices especially during the height of the holiday season. I honestly think because of Covid they have definitely hiked up their prices compared to last year when we were suppose to go on this holiday. We had to hold it over to this year because of Iockdown. I remember looking at the prices last year and for me and my car in August was around £130 return. I was absolutely staggered at the prices for this year. The cottage for a week for 8 is £3,000 plus the ferry charges it is going to make it a very expensive holiday. Nevertheless we are all looking forward to it and all the videos and books I have read it sounds the perfect place for me to take all my family on. Especially my three grandchildren as this will be their first holiday.
