Freddy is my fave of the 80's horror icons followed closely by Pinhead then Chucky. This movie was funny but liked the next b/c it got darker again. Dream Warriors is still my fave of the series for me.

Interesting side note, the original script, or at least a draft for it, is available online and is in my opinion way better and less comedic. This movie takes bits and pieces from it. Alice was in it and her son Jacob was now a teenager and basically like the John Doe (because Freddy killed Alice at the beginning of the script) and he went to a group home in another town while Springwood became a ghost town. It also brought back Kincaid, Joey & Taryn from part 3 as like Dream Police (basically angels?) who were there to help fight off Freddy.

Like I said, this was one of my favorites just for the entertainment. From a horror fan perspective, I can see why many people hate on this one, but I loved the fact that they made Freddy so diverse. That's what make him better than the other slashers (imo), he's different and not a basic slasher frfr. All that chasing you through the woods and killing you while having sex or naked in the shower shit is cool but that gets boring and played out after awhile, Freddy was creative with his kills. In conclusion, still my favorite in the series, and tbh, this was no different than watching Scary Movie, it was like a parody. Maybe that's why I liked it so much because it was similar to a Wayans Bros comedy lol. Shout out to Freddy, he's the goat💯💯😎😎🔥 P.S people can trash this one all they want but in reality, everybody knows the worst Freddy movie EVER, is the remake💯😂

When something hit and could make big money they beat that horse to death! it was like that with almost anything music, tv, films, clothes (Over saturation killed horror) there was more horror films made in that 10 year period then any other time in the last 100 years of films! Freddy’s Dead & Jason Goes to Hell bookends the fall of 80’s Horror…. Freddy’s Dead also has a real underrated motion picture soundtrack

The original plan for the series was to release nightmare on elm Street 6 dream lover and they even had a promotional phone line have you enter a sweepstakes to win to be a part of the film (commercials on youtube). However just like part 4 and 5 most of the actors was busy and part 5 showed the lowest sales of all the franchise to that particular date next to part one. So they moved on with the final one and the originally they was going to kill off Alice.

There is actually only one more of the original movies. That is Wes Craven's New Nightmare then you officially finished the original Nightmare on Elm Street movies. So there is only like 7 original Standalone movies in a Nightmare on Elm Street original movies. Then there is the Freddy versus Jason movie wich is more like the idea of Alien versus Predator kind of deal. Basically a crossover to see Freddy and Jason fight pretty much that's it. Then the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. So technically and literally The Nightmare on Elm Street movie franchise. Is the shortest you have ever watched so far. With solid continuity mines the 2nd movie because that movie ignored any continuity from the first movie. Because it's completely altered Freddy Krueger's powers and abilities. But A Nightmare on Elm Street then A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and afterwards up to West Craven New Nightmare. Had solid continuity because it picked up immediately after the movie that came before. It they keep all the facts the same from the previous movie. So 6 out of 7 movies in this movie franchise had solid continuity story plot wise. By that I mean Freddy Krueger was a dream demon killer who only kill people in dreams and only had power in the dream world. Granted Wes Craven's New Nightmare changes it but it makes sense. It was also the last Nightmare on Elm Street movies for quite some time. Because New line Cinema moved on an did other projects other then Nightmare on Elm Street. So they stopped after the 7th movie. Wich was not the case for the Halloween movie franchise and Friday the 13th movie franchise. They made 7 movies then directly into making the 9th and 10th and whatever. Basic movie franchise breakdown lanths. A Nightmare on Elm Street 7 original movies Freddy versus Jason crossover. Then one remake only one recton that being in a nightmare on Street 2 Freddy's Revenge. Basically when director change Freddy Krueger's Powers around. But that was rectified in 3rd movie and stayed the same after. Halloween movie franchise only with Michael Myers not counting the 3rd movie. 12 movies this takes into account Halloween ends. Like I believe that how many times has Michael Myers been killed two three four times. The end of Halloween 2 the original Halloween 4 an Halloween H2O so that was 3 times it was supposed to be the last Michael Myers movie. But the 7th movie was Halloween resurrection then there 5 more Halloween movies after the 7th one. After The 7 th Nightmare on Elm Street movie they stop making movies of a Nightmare on Elm Street they moved on for quite some time. But the Halloween movie franchise all 12 of them the entire. Movie franchises is full of rectons and multiple timelines. Then finally Friday the 13th 10 original movies. In wich part to starts off by immediately retconing Jason's death from the first movie. Then the 7th movie was the new blood . Then they made 3 more movies after that Jason Takes Manhattan , Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X. Then the crossover movie Freddy versus Jason then one reboot movie. With no solid continuity because Jason died in 1954 as a child. The First movie states that perfectly clear. Then even part two backs up that fact then its backed up again in part 4. Then one more movie after that clearly states Jason died as a child in 1954. So no solid continuity because Jason's dead was never alive but somehow he's alive. Basic breakdown of these 3 movie franchises. Nightmare on Elm Street 9 movis. 7 original 1 crossover and 1 remake. Halloween movie franchise Michael Myers only 12 movies. I'm sure theres more to come because they can't leave Michael dead apparently so I doubt Halloween ends Is the last movie. Friday the 13th movie franchise 10 original movies 1 crossover an 1 reboot for 12 movies. So the Nightmare on Elm Street movie franchise and its movies. Has fuwer movies then Halloweeen an Friday the 13th. Childs Play only had 8 movies in its movie franchise so far. That consist of 7 original movies an 1 reboot movie. So A Nightmare on Elm Street with 7 original movies an crossover movie and one remake. Is still a short movie franchise compare to Halloween and Friday the 13th. Qick side not it actually makes sense that it was extremely hard to get rid of Freddy Krueger. I mean it introduced him as a dream demon meaning he doesn't need a physical body . He lives in the Spirit Realm so how can you truly get rid of a spirit permanently. Unlike Michael Myers or Jason they both have physical bodies they both need physical bodies. In there movies their physical bodies have been destroyed shot up everything to the point of no longer functioning. But they never stay down thats what really makes no sense. I mean at the end of original Halloween 2 Michael Myers was blinded. But he can see in Halloween 4 even though his eyes were shot in Halloween 2 and he was blinded. But when it comes to Spirits it's a whole nother level. If they have no physical body to destroy or kill how can you truly kill them. These movies are not Supernatural TV series paste. So theres no demon killing bullets or guns or knifes. In the Nightmare on Elm Street universe yes I know who Sam and Dean Winchester are.

John and the kids were the best parts of the movie with Freddy. Wasn't a fan of that girl being Freddy's daughter, I wasn't into her character at all. No!!! Do not skip New Nightmare. Not only is New Nightmare really good but it's the movie that actually felt like real closure to the series. Skipping New Nightmare is just as fucken stupid as a person who wants to watch all the Terminator movies(he never seen them) and for some reason skips Terminator 2 which is the best one. While the Nightmare franchise has too many dumb sequels, if it was a trilogy part 1, 3, and 7(aka New Nightmare) would have made it perfect as a trilogy, the reasons why is that each movie is different from each other while being really good at the same time, and all 3 movies have the same actress that plays Nancy. Oh and this is the only Nightmare movie after the first one where Wes Craven actually directed it.

I think it's bad but I still really enjoy this one. it's way better than four I hate that movie. that movie is awful. that's the worst movie in the franchise next to this one. five is my favorite next to the first one and the third one. I also really like new nightmare I think it really did something interesting. Freddy versus Jason is ok.

Freddy and Chucky are the main horror movie icons, I can’t take seriously. Will say, Freddy seems like a fun guy to hang out with in your dreams. I would definitely mess with other people with him. Totally agree with old lady perfume. That stuff is so strong, it lingers for almost an hour after passing one.

This movie is an absolute dumpster fire and the fact they kill Freddy by blowing him up when his death in part 4 was the best death and could’ve been the end he lost his power and all the souls of his victims. The best death in this movie is Carlos cause oof the Q-tip in the ear ouch with his head exploding was cool.

I mean if you think about it, it was a reasonable death because she blew him up while he wasn't in the dreamworld. Noticed how in the previous from part 3-5, Freddy was only killed in the Dreamworld but even then it made no difference because he ended up coming back. In this one, Freddy killed everybody there was to kill and wiped out an entire town, which is why there wasn't no kids. He moved to a new town but the only people that knew him were his daughter, Tracy, and the Doctor. So they manage to bring him out, blow him up, and kill him before he could spread across the town and get noticed so he can't comeback, because he's not remembered. That's why his story after Freddy's Dead continues on Freddy vs Jason and it explained it from there.

@@BrandonJames2016 yeah but once again, it was in the dreamworld and none of that technically matters considering that all you have to do is remember him and he's right back to life. In part 5, as you saw he wasn't sealed by his mother after all because his claw popped out her stomach because he was in the dreamworld where he's the most powerful. In this one, she pulled him out of the dream and blew him up with a pipe bomb. And he couldn't come back because there was no children and the children who made contact in him got locked up in institutions taking Hypnocil. So again, it's acceptable because he was taken out of the dreamworld and got a pipe bomb. In part 1, Nancy brought him out but just set him on fire, then managed to get in a dream loop. In part 2, he brought the dreamworld in the real world, but it made him weak cause he felt human emotions to where he set himself on fire. So in part 6, his daughter killed him the right way to where it was no left to him. And by them being skilled psychiatrists, they never dreamt him back up.

Yeah this was definitely the worst entry in the franchise by far. The dream child was better than this and that’s not saying much. The later ones although bad have their respective fanbase/cult followings due to their creativity and inventive kills. So that’s something that I can appreciate and their only redeeming qualities.
