We no longer work for them, we employ them. Our parents and grandparents used to work on their farms, now they work on our farms. Jealousy is part of the equation. We are not their servants anymore.

The mistreatment of Banyarwanda in Uganda is Sysmatic by government officials especially at internal affairs, as a munyarwanda Born in Uganda (Buganda) i have never experienced any kind of discrimination by baganda. The sentiments by some local people is a misconception around Museveni's original who feel that he is a Rwandese.

But the banyarwanda referred to in the constitution are the banyarwanda who Germans put to uganda in the kigezi ones(bafumbira) those scattered in parts of Uganda just came and have to apply for citizenship. More, there people in kisoro who identify as banyarwanda than bafumbira.

Your statement is very confusing. The Banyarwanda of Bufumbira got the advantage of geographical location. The Banyarwanda who are having issues are those who are across UGANDA, Who were in UGANDA before 1920 order in council. I studied on Kabale and I will tell you that the discrimination is on its highest level whether you are from Kisoro or else where. It is this discrimination that should come to an end. How can someone possibly go to a place where his great grand parents no longer belong? Thank God the Bafumbira for now are not denied passport and national IDs But you wonder how long this will be. I stand with the Banyarwanda of UGANDA. No backing out

The question of Banyarwanda is competition for land with other Ugandan tribes….. a mutooro in Fortportal will hate a mukiga from kigezi because they are competing for land and the bafuruki of Bunyoro have even reached fighting levels, the bakonzo and Bamba may hate batooro bse the history they share .. the banyarwanda in Uganda is not a small population, occupying not less than 10 districts competition has to be felt …. It’s just like Nigerians in south Africa or Indians in Canada

But frankly i know one girl who has not even spent a whole year in uganda but managed to get a passport claiming she's from bufumbira regions yet she's a burindian

Just give it time, they can remove it from her if the truth comes out. Even Ugandans go to Europe and pretend to be what they are not and get citizenship there.

That means she has contacts in Bufumbira that can be verified. Once your name looks Rwandeese, the verification process kicks in. She probably passed the test at immigration. The language is the same, but perhaps she has relatives in Kisoro or she grew up.from there

@dagalouslukenge9264 very easy If she is hutu she looks like the bantu Then it's hard for immigration to find out But the problem is for tutsi hima looking Being minorities and having easy faces to see!!yet the 1st family look the same Has gone through same profiling in 1980 Almost got killed by obote army isn't doing nothing

The Problem is the Uganda 1995 constitution which pronounces Banyarwanda as a tribe in Uganda. I believe they don't qualify to be called a Tribe but rather the politics of the regime wanted to use them as numbers in elections only.

Most tribes in UGANDA immigrated into Uganda. The only misunderstanding is that there is a country called Rwanda with people called Banyarwanda!😕 The Banyarwanda in Rwanda are not the ones who live in UGANDA. Although they share a history. It is pathetic to think that they are not Ugandans because of their name. Divide and rule has taken it's tall on you for sure. The colonialists are long gone, but unfortunately for you, you maintain their agenda Divide and rule them. The boarders were defined in 1920 Try to find out where your grand parents lived at the time, you will be in shock

@@niyo2388 You cannot call the Banyarwanda in Uganda a tribe without defining where they root from and their history. Thats the problem, it doesnt matter whether they were here in the 20s or anytime the challenge still will remain as a question of who they are.

@@ugandanow530 For you there would be no problem if they assimilated. Let's say became Baganda or Banyankole Adopted names and changed language. It's an option available to them. But let's fist be slow. What's wrong with their language and identity? Why should anyone be forced to change who they are? Just because there is no particular location where they all live together What loss does Uganda make if the keep their identity as Banyarwanda? For crying out loud, what's at stake that now they should change or go to Rwanda where they have never been? Language and culture is something powerful. It is passed down by oral tradition. There people have nothing to do with Rwanda. They are not an urgent problem to be solved. And that's their point

Mr moderator. The answer is ; there was no Rwanda in the ears, and eyes of so many people in our neighborhood. 20 years later After 1994 there comes Rwanda nobody expected to be what it is today. So to many they caught up by surprise. That’s is what is bothering all these neighbors who harass kinyarwanda speaking. Apart from kenya & South Sudan. I think in EAC

Its seems this Buganda official can not differentiate b'tn Banyarwanda & Banyankore of bahima ethnic group? He alluded to former LC5 c/man of Rakai District the late Emmanuel Kamunaana as part of Banyarwanda as Mr Higiro. For correction, the late Kamunaana was pure munyankore. I guess that's why a section of our society keep calling president Museveni a munyarwanda?
