CP Mary always had a great love and respect for him as a person. Her persona showed what a bleak and empty day it was for her, at the funeral service. Yet, she was the comforting presence beside an equally if not more CP Frederik. HRH Prince Henerik recognized her love for his son, much before anyone else did. R,I,P, His wedding speech says it all.

The children resemble their grandfather mostly - such a genuine and warm welcome to the family. No wonder Mary flourished in that environment. That's good fortune for her

Prince Henrik such a beautiful man father of the future King of Denmark 🇩🇰 he was such a beautiful man full of love and so kind may he deserved to be Prince Consort (he always wanted that) but it was denied to him and that is so horrible... May Prince Henrik Rest In Eternal Peace with the Angels and Saints in the presence of Our Lord Jesus and Blessed Mother Mary... Your smile was so beautiful the world is missing your heart right now. 💔

You know what I think of royalty these days? Royals are no longer the quintessence of reign, but of different kind of power. They represent and with that ensure some last bit of national identity, such as interhuman values, the old and the newly discovered ones. Look at this man! Here we got kindness, warmth, grace, open hearts and minds. And showing that by giving such a speech looks easy, but in fact it takes a lot of emotional intelligence! With that royals are (supposed to be) idols in different matters, which is hard enough as other royals from abroad have shown. Long story short: That, Sir, to my mind was the most touching and authentic way of welcoming your son's bride and your country's future queen to your family and country. I simply can not imagine a queen Elizabeth II. or an old King Juan Carlos of Spain to give such a speech. Continuity does not just come from grace, it comes from reliability...with all due respect, my foreign friends, just my opinion. Kudos, your Highness!!

Vicky 12 I agree with almost all of your comment. Royalty is our national pride and history, all in one family, the embodiment of the nation. I do just disagree with your comment about Queen Elizabeth. What you see in public is her public face what people expect from her. In private she is very warm, affectionate and with a fantastic sense of humour.

@@mscott3918 yeah there are different styles of royalty and i think they reflect the peoples of the countries they reign. british ones are particularly more reserved and subtle , still powerful when they need to conver messages
