In the US the Retevis RB27 family (RB27 GMRS, RB27b FRS, RB27b MURS) are my favorite 2 way radios. As others hafe ,entiined. Chirp allows for a great deal of costumization. The controls aŕ great, the weather and FM broadcast radio capabilities are useful, and the. Range us good. You can use the chirp RB27 file to modify it.

most of these retevis radios have a coil antannae which is smaller than the actual tubing I always cut mine and I put a proper stopper on the top makes it more discreet while still looking good.

Hi Fred, Thanks again for a great review on the Retevis 627B . Just before your unexpected visitor arrived i believe you were saying the these radio's had an extra channel ability, how would you access them or would you have to do this via the "chirp" system. Keep these video's going Fred, very good.
@CB-RADIO-UK2 жыл бұрын
Hi John. Yes if the radios are supported by CHIRP it may be possible to expand the freqs they cover and add extra channels. Not looked into it myself.

Hello and thank you very much for your nice video it's so informative and interesting. My name is Michael i have two Retevis RB628 very good radios programming. The range is very good but i think with a longer antenna goes it better the RB628 are very short 4cm that is not so long. I say thank you and all the best for you 55/73 Michael ( Victor India )

Hi Fred. Thanks for the review. Have a hard time choosing between the Retevis RB27 vs RB618 vs RT649P Vs RB628? Any tips or feedback since you have tested several of them on wich one to get? I know its diffrent modells. But some reviews here in youtube really bashes the quality of the speakers and microfon vs the motorolla ones. Im intrested in the Retevis since you can chose a Hight 2w output by a software fix from Retevis in China.

I really like this RB627B. Its not got the loudest speaker but it feels higher quality.

You can program repeaters on him, and give him higher power - 2watts. But it will be not PMR anymore but ham radio or GRMS. I found the way how to do that.
@TontonZen2 жыл бұрын
Looks like a disguised UV5R, same display and menu behavior except the menu seems simplified. Seems to be the same firmware with some patches to allow only PMR/FRS type options.

You could be right, not a bad thing though. Its does sound exactly the same.

Als kleiner Tipp...mit der entsprechenden Software lässt sich das Gerät auch auf Freenet programmieren und die Leistung lässt sich ein klein wenig erhöhen. Chirp geht da nicht!
