I was at that first show in Worcester, MA. People were in shock, it was dead silent when they were doing the quieter parts. I thought there was going to be riot when they did the acoustic set in the middle. Mikael was hilarious, at one point, he says "I know, we're difficult, just bear with us." The rough characters in the mosh pit were holding hands and dancing around like minstrels from the Middle Ages, almost mocking the music. People were muttering "Play Drapery Falls" .

Nice infos, i like this approach. ;) Back in the day all the specific gear/endorsment infos were impossible to know. :) I remember me and my Opeth tribute band freaking out on how to find the perfect Opeth sound. :)

@arjunparuthi You surely, surely must be confusing Martin Mendez, their bass player, with Martin Lopez, their ex-drummer.

Being a musician myself, I really HATE when ppl attack artists and bands when they decide to step away from "the angry child" inside and do some smart, thoughthtrough, music where the ability to use dynamics means more than playong as hard and fast as you can. Wanna be ALL death metal, stick to Nile. Want to be a part of a smarter, more liquid crowd; buy Heritage, load and reload (by 'tallica) and restless heart (by Whitesnake) and DON'T be a heavy metal square!

How the hell can you call Load and Re-Load commercial? Sure, they did a lot of videos, but not as much as heavy metals most pathetic bands, Iron Maiden and W.A.S.P, but I don't hear any1 complaining about those suckers.. No, I just want to give this tip to you all: listen to load and re-load in earphones, end compare them to the same experience with similar bands of the time! And THEN come and say that they aren't thoughtthrough!!!

Iron Maiden aren't that good, given they did influence a vast number of musicians they're songs are basically the same 3 chords. (The AC/DC of the 'Metal' genre). I personally never got into them just because I couldn't stand listening to the same outline of a song over and over.

no it's cool dawg im basically a gangsta so i don't give a crap about those ppl i listen to rap all the time know what am sayin' ?

@Dungarth I've heard all those songs, again theyre nothing special and Iron Maiden and progressive don't belong in the same sentence.
@Lemmywinx66612 жыл бұрын
So you HAVE TO love Iron Maiden? They were not groundbreaking at all, if you compare them to Judas Priest! Iron Maiden did the same thing, but all the time a little later than Priest. So Groundbreaking SCHOUNDBREAKING!
