Holy moley, the finish on that cu24 is STUPID. The contrast within the flame is just 🤤 To me, the big comparison with these will be vs. the HFS and vintage bass. Decades later, that set is still my benchmark. If a pickup set can stand up to those in clarity and midrange substance, that’s when my ears start to perk up. So far, they sound great

How do these compare to the DGT pickups in terms of tone profile/sonic character?

Great tone however like SE Sky the odd ball colors and limitations needs to stop. All standard colors first then perhaps some color requests optional.

Nothing plays like a PRS.. Bought a custom in 1987.. still have it to this day..

For a long time I was very unimpressed with PRS guitars. I played a bunch at high end guitar stores like Chicago Music Exchange and they were all dead sounding. Lifeless and numb. I made a friend at a local dealer and told him about my experiences. He was shocked. He handed me 4 guitars. An SE CE, an SE DGT, an S2 McCarty 594, and a core DGT. I was shocked. They all blew me away. I get it now. I will be buying PRS guitars from him forever. They were so good that I would sell every guitar I own for one DGT core.

If anyone is on the fence about PRS, can I say, for what it's worth, that I recently bought a 2012 PRS DGT all mahogony model and once I brought it home and played it in my studio in my own amp and stuff I simply went to my 2006 Les Paul R0 Historic and put it in its case to remain as an investment I can cash in some time later in life... yes... the PRS is that amazing.

I may actually buy one of these.

I haven't heard the new pickups yet but I'm not a fan of many of their previous pickups. Sounds like he finally gave in and is going after tried and true tones. BTW, I LOVE the guitars, just never really liked the pickups. Nothing Seymour Duncan couldn't fix.

Would be nice to be able to afford an American prs just to stare at like a piece of art in your home but I will stick with my standard 2408 love this guitar plays so good and perfect out of the case when I bought it 🤘🤘🤘🧳

These demos always sound like the tone knob is set to 50%. Even the single coils have such low sounding high ends. Gimme some twang!
