If you let developers play for free, which we understand as non commercial use, and then you have a commercial use licensing policy, the people who learn up into professional developer level through your free fair use version will pay to use it when they are making money using it. I used both github copilot and codeium and found that codeuim is slow to respond in my pc. copilot is almost instant but codeium takes 2-3 seconds to respond. is that because my internet speed or my pc configuration?

I do like Codeium but just like what happened to you at 6:25 it's not perfect and sometimes it seems like it forgets it has access to read my files and then doesn't suggest correct snippets of code. But this is still better than writing everything by hand or getting a helping hand when you don't know what you're doing on something!

I agree! Sometimes it gets lost or confused but I'm sure it's still being improved everyday. The way that it fills in boilerplate in React is a game changer for me. Or repetitive or obvious HTML. Or if I forget how to do something in CSS and don't want to Google. And I can't wait to really sink my teeth into a Laravel project with Codeium installed.

Hi Brad, I have an unrelated question. I noticed in your videos that you use a feature to draw a rectangle on the screen to highlight specific areas you're talking about. Could you please share the name of the app you use for this?

On Mac you can press CMD + Shift + 4 and after drawing the rectangle press the escape key to avoid actually taking the screenshot. On Windows, there's a program called GreenShot that is almost identical, and can even be configured to use whatever keyboard shortcut you want.

Yeah, but my gut feeling tells me that Copilot will have better coverage and support for more languages just for the fact that the AI has tons of code to learn from (all the public Github repos).

this thing alone is the most absolute piece of truth regarding to use ai in projects. as soon as just one file with mulple methods start to grow ai becomes even less accurate to the point it becomes useless. this made me missevaluate the time i would take to complete a project because i was relying on the idea AI would help me all the way through the project. (it does but not in a general way, only in a limited scope
