@@SamPaterson unfortunately no. I do have a ticket in with Alesis to see if they can help. I am thinking that since the Firmware updated first, that somehow something got hidden after... just a guess.

Did you make those 5 kits in BFD player then import to module somehow? The installers for BFD and DM exp only give the option to install on my computer. Did the module come up as an install location option for you?

I swear it said we got the "Dark Farm" BFD package for free but I must have mis-read that when I got the kit months ago :( I'm only just now setting up the connection to PC... Anyone tried the Dark Farm kits and is it worth purchasing? Are there any other ways to get other kits besides the ones BFD offers or is that it?
@SamPaterson3 ай бұрын
I’m pretty sure the Dark Farm package is already on the Module. It should be with the samples when you change the sounds of your drums

Sam, Just sent you a couple of bucks. Happy to send more for more complete resolution of the issue of loading the BFD core expansion and the Dark Mahogany kit both of which came free with Strata Prime.i have spent hours. Tried to get assistance from Sweetwater, Alesis, BFD, yourself and others online. Cannot get kits to load onto module as you demonstrate. Please help!

Hey Mate, thank you so much for the donation, I really appreciate it. KZbin hadn't notified me of any further comments on that video so I apologise that it took your donation for me to reply. I really wish I could give you more assistance but all I can suggest is to add the BFD Kit files onto an SD Card and then put that into the module. You may be able to download the kits from the SD Card or at the very least you should be able to just keep the card in the module. I'd like to try it out, but I would need to buy another BFD Kit and that isn't manageable at the moment. I am releasing a video tonight which clears some things up about the tutorial, so potentially that could spark more conversation to solve our problem. Thanks again if I work something out, I'll let you know

So sorry to be so ignorant nut how would I get the BFD core and Dark Mahogany on to a SD card? And if I can do that, then how would I load them onto module. And if I cannot load them onto module how to use while on SD card. I will happily pay for a BFD kit for you to experiment with.
@SamPaterson5 күн бұрын
I feel no ignorance at all mate, no stress. If you’re willing to pay for it, I’d 100% give it a go and try and figure it out. Completely up to you…

The Kits are not showing up for me. I have In-Music account and the BFD Player Dark Mahogany is showing as installed and ACTIVATED from my MacBook inMusic software under "My Hardware". i connected as you show (USB A to my MacBook USB C). I also tried the SP firmware Update which ran fine.... but no kits on the module 😞

Even I’m getting frustrated. Surely it’s the new update or something that’s messed it up.

From what I understand, you need to use the USB-B port on the back of the Alesis module to connect to your computer. Do not use USB-A

The process shown in the video does not work for me. I'm on the latest firmware as of this writing 1.1.0, I'm on a MacBook Pro 2017. I have a USB-B cable with a USB-A male on the other end connected to a small passive adapter to convert it from USB-A to TB-3 or USB-C. When the Prime Setup app says it's "Syncing Product Data" there are no errors. When completed, there are no new kits in the "User Kits" browser on the Prime Module. What could be the issue here? I've got to be doing something wrong. It could be that my USB-A to USB-C adapter is somehow not compatible but Alesis nor anyone else has mentioned anything about incompatibilities. My MacBook Pro 2017 only has TB-3 connectors. I also tried USB hub that I've used for years that works. I'm not worried about killing the transfer speed, I just want it to work and there's really no reason it shouldn't work.

@SamPaterson yeah, i need to go buy one of that size. I have micro SD and the old large SD cards but not a mini SD card. I'd really like to get my Mac to work. But I'll try the mini SD card like you said. Thanks for replying.

@nakleh3 ай бұрын
@@SamPaterson at 4:25 all of the kits say "user". Wouldn't they say BFD or something?

It’s probably due to the fact that I - the user added the kits. When I look at changing the sounds on the BFD kits, it lists each of the drums as BFD.

So these kits must the be made with sounds from the Dark Mahogany library.

Hi. Ive been trying to find out if the/how the Percussion pack sounds can be imported onto the module. Could you clarify for me: 1) Are there any bar chimes included in the factory default percussion sounds? 2) I understand the BFD Percussion expansion is included in the downloadable expansions? 3) Can I import the sounds from the Percussion expansion onto the module, or must they be played via a connected laptop running BFD? Any advice gratefully received. Cheers.
@SamPaterson3 ай бұрын
1) Haven’t noticed any. 2) It is 3) You should be able to download everything onto your module and play it from there without the laptop. This video should walk you through it. Don’t forget to connect your computer to the module using a USB B Cable for the downloads. Hope this helps

@@SamPaterson Hi Sam - just wanted to clarify this for you as I raised a query with Alesis support and received confirmation of the following. If I want to add bell chimes (or any percussion sound that is not installed by default) to my kits then I must either: 1- Install the BFD software (included in the purchase of the kit) onto a PC. Install the Percussion Expansion (also included in the purchase of the kit) onto the PC. 2 - Create a kit that uses the bell chimes from the expansion pack installed on the PC. 3 - Can then only use the kits that incorporate the bell chimes when the PC is connected to the module. Or: 1 - Obtain a separate sample file of bell chimes. 2 - Import that into the library from a USB stick. 3 - But this would be less editable and have fewer articulations. Hope this confirms what you find in practice...

This does not actually install any kits or samples onto the module, it simply syncs the the drum kit so it can trigger the drums using the BFD player. You will need to have your laptop connected to your module if you want to use these kits. There are already some samples with BFD labels on them but they are not the same thing...
There are a number of BFD kit samples that are already installed as of the most recent update, hence why you see a lot of samples labeled as such. But in terms of installing anything as shown in your video, it does not actually put anything new onto your module. This is why you have people in your comment section telling you that they do not see the kits as a selectable option on their modules. Bottom line, you need the BFD player on a computer in order to use them. This is stright from Alesis themselves! And directly from multiple forums where people are having this same issue. I'm not trying to be confrontational with you, I am merely suggesting that you edit the video to give people the proper information so they are not frustrated...

So you cannot add BFD 3 expansion kits into the Alesis brain? I can’t even get my Bfd kits to work anymore. What a mess. Spent hundreds on everything. Support isn’t very good. Maybe it’s time to check out other companies.
