Very interesting. I would've thought the hydraulic head would be equal to the height of the vortex itself. Really cool, I want to make my own now.

What an awesome learning experiment ! ! Thank you so much for creating it and posting it ! . I am still curious if the velocity of the exiting water is near that of the water inlet velocity.
