Everytime I try to use the slide technique I instead mute the string, could this be because of the way that the bridge is placed? Great video btw!

Hmm....probably not. Without seeing you play though it's a little hard to tell. My guess is you're muting the strings with your left hand (fretting hand). You're probably not maintaining the pressure on your fretting hand during the slight which causes the string to mute. Or you're muting the string with another finger. If you're muting the strings with your picking hand, then you need to practice keep your picks off the strings after you've played the note. My guess is you'll get it with some more experimentation and practice. Good luck. - Mike
