This guy in my opinion is right up there with Jack Bruce, McCartney, John Paul Jones and all the great rock and roll bass players. He was superb as a 16 year old when he first started with FREE! It's a shame he never really carried on with a new band and found the same success he found with FREE because this guy was a world class musician on piano as well as bass. It's a shame he's passed away,a truly superb musician!!

Free is still one of my favourite bands ever. Some people don't know that Elvis, Beatles, Free and led Zeppelin broke the ground for Heavy Metal and Inde music. One of my biggest influences as a bass player. Very innovative and underrated in my view. RIP Andy

Actually, one of the very first "heavy" (heavy drums with a strong bass/lead rift) rock songs to come out in the evolution of rock-n-roll was a little known song called "Kicks" by Paul Revere and the Raiders. Came out around 1966. Ironically, they were an American band-which is a rarity. I, often, wonder how many of those heavy English bands were influenced by that song. Also, "Hungry" was another of their heavy songs-very strong drums. Nothing like a little anger to get the blood moving.

Oh Andy. You are still one of my idols. So much love and respect for this man..His bass sound is always playing in my head, reminding me as a bassist that less is more, it's all about the feel, the groove, to hold it and keep it. Very few did that as beautifully and consistently as Andy Fraser! Reading his memoir, 'All Right Now', lots of things I learned about Andy, his confidence, his great business sense, and much more. I will always miss you, Andy. ❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🌹😓

Goodbye Andy. You've been part of my life since I was 14, when I bought the Fire And Water album in 1972. I had never heard of Free until the Little bit of Love single, as All Right Now was before my time. It blew me away, compared to the chart stuff I was used to. Rest in peace.

I loved Little Bit of Love, it was so under rated but an absolute gem. The guitar , mesmerising, and the vocal ! but , of course Andy and Paul equally as good. How on earth is that possible! love and Peace. " I believe, if you give, a little bit of love, to those you live with, a little bit of love, oooh oh oh ...... has got to come your way, then Koss plays the words with , we now know... irony. Played with Koss's beautiful open heart, hope he believed that, Andy too, right to the end.

I've been a free fan for years, But Slade are my no 1 band, But I have to mention this guy Andy Fraser, a free Basist legend, who sadly is no longer with us, But the legacy he has left us is immeasurable, , for two reasons, firstly, he was a musical genius on the bass guitar, and secondly , and no less as important, he wanted the child sex trade to be exposed for what it is, an evil trade in children's abuse. God bless you man. There are people exposing these sickos right now, thanks to this man and his fellow supporters. R I P Andy Fraser.

I think what made Andy the person we know is that he never swayed from his own goals. Musically he is one of a few bass players who knew that silences within a song enhanced the parts where you actually played. I was in Andy's manor Paddington, when I heard of his passing; truly loved by so many and missed beyond words, proud of you Andy. God bless.

Such a personable, talented musician and songwriter, a shame he left the party so early in 2015. In 1970 my friends set out for Phun City, a ticketed, pop festival which, due to hopeless security, rapidly became a free for all, except Free, who we'd all gone to see, went straight back to London after realising management of the event was shambolic. On route though, a large Austin overtook us and immediately Andy hung out of the Maxi's rear window, indicating with a big smiley thumbs up, his approval of the ancient Standard Ten I was driving. He was obviously impressed by the silver hub cap-less wheels, white wall tyres, blue bonnet stripe, chequered spotlights and whip aerial. Rest in peace Andy Fraser.

In 2013 Andy was in the UK for a series of gigs and he had a fabulous time, well received by those who remembered him from his Free days and those too young to know. I think Andy purveyed a unique language through his bass and vocals; phrasing like that makes you a poet.

Free didn't really last a long time but go into any blues/rock loving pub and in the course of an evening a tune or three from that band will probably crop up. That's testimony to enduring quality! I believe Andy was fifteen when he joined and in the time until he left, his terrific talent and musical focus would leave many more established bass players running for the hills. He was a magnificent talent, and as we can see from this interview, a truly caring human being. I often think about him and Paul being gone and in those rare moments when I forget, there's always the sound of Free's hits streaming out of a boozer to remind me. Bless em.

I'm 100% hetero, but i'm thinking that is on you to deal with anyway. When nature or nurture give rise to so many flavors of relationships we should all accept those as long as it's involving legally aged adults. I was born in 1971 and have come to this realization at least 15 years ago. Blaming the environment for being that slow recognizing all the other types of flavors sexuality.

Does anyone find it strange that Andy dies so abruptly...right when he is passionately bringing awareness to this hideous sex trafficking thing. I finally found one thing that said the cause of death was a heart attack. For the longest time, all that was being said was "Cause Of Death Has Not Been Determined." It just all sounded a bit fishy to me from the beginning. Yes, I know he was HIV positive. But (given his condition) he was in extraordinary shape...and a true "Health Nut." Sure, heart attacks can hit at any time. But it's also a "Catch-All" for when the cause really can't be determined. Everyone that dies has a "Heart Attack"...the heart stops beating for some reason. Of course, this sex trafficking thing is huge money for some incredibly evil people. Throwing light and heat on what they are doing is the last thing they want! Andy was doing just that!. Just curious if I am the only one that was thinking Hmmmm? over Andy's sudden death. Only about a month after this interview.

This evil exists in individuals within political high offices, within top echelons in intelligence agencies, law enforcement, military, charitble organisations, state bureaucracy, etc & their influence & power is how its facilitated but rarely are such individuals identified, chosen, recruited within those organisations but are rather placed there.....originally they are from either limited familial bloodlines but with the majority coming thru various fraternal secret/semi-secret societies. Society will never be free of this evil as long as individuals serving a completely different agenda are put in positions of power & influence to serve the people. Never!

I know about some speculations over his death, they all make sense to be honest, but I won't use such things to try and understand why he speaks so slowly during this interview. What I'm implying is that gay people are always depicted and supposed to speak in a somewhat affected and very slow manner, but that's obviously not the reason for this one. He seems to be speaking to some foreigner who can't understand English...
