I am using 4.1.1. I could not add driver to mouth bone's x,y scale. They were highlighted yellow. Guess I fixed it tough. In bone settings, I clicked to the diamond shape near Scale X and Scale Y and made them gray. Then Ctrl D works fine. Not sure if I broke something:D

Hey, they were keyframed by accident I guess. Maybe turn off the auto keying button in the timeline to avoid that in the future ^^

Again me Sorry :) My shadow also moving on z axis. Not sure what I missed again. Did we locked its z location somehow but it follow our body root to hell:D So I added a bone constraint to shadow bone. Limit Location with world space and fixed z locations to 0.

Tough it now dont move with "root" bone. So when i place piggy on a bed, her shadow will be under the bed :/

When you don't need the bone constraint you can change the influence to 0, you can also key-frame the value while animating. Thanks for following the course and good luck!

There are several examples in the video, check your bones axis they may be different and adjust your drivers accordingly

Expression is all but but mouth bone Scale x and y axis don't show add driver option why
