You don’t suck you just haven’t had any luck. Fish are starting to pick up now, try your luck on some bait fish, sardines, anchovies and pile worm are will known around Sacramento. Try using a 3 way set up, leader line with a 6oz - 8oz weight depending on weather, wind and current. There’s a video on part 1 of Covid fishing which shows the rig.

But keep trying, we usually run at Garcia Bend, Greenhaven area go check it out. You’ll see the parking lot and then a trail and boat launch up top. You’ll see a gated area where people walk, go through there and if you walk a ways you’ll see a trail on the side and that’s where people go and catch striper. Maybe you’ll see us there sometime we’re usually there fishing
