I'm not exaggerating when I say that Paul's videos are the reason I bought a Boss Katana. It's been a long time since I've been this happy with a new purchase. The wonderful tones I heard in these videos are exactly what I now have in my home. Thank you so much, Paul.

I didn’t buy it because of him, in fact I’m new here but I got a boss katana mk2 50 watt about 3 months ago and just 2 days ago I got a boss katana air. I absolutely love boss katanas now. Even the air has such a great quality of sound and let’s me use a back track so I leave it wirelessly plugged into my schecter c-1 platinum fr/s and it’s amazing. I can import sets from my main amp straight to the air and I can use my phone to control it. Picking up my guitar turns it on, putting it back down it turns off after a minute. But the real thing that matters is sound and even though the air isn’t as robust with effects at one time like the mk2 it’s become my personal favorite amp now. I leave my mk2 in my studio and I use my air in my room. I lay in bed 20 feet away from the amp and just have fun while I watch tv or KZbin or while I play with a backing track. The 50 is still more superior but damn that tiny amp sounds incredible and is incredible. I’d only recommend it on sale. I don’t think it’s worth 500$ I got it on sale for 379 and that’s probably about as much as it should be sold for. That mk2 I have is white and cost only 300$

Paul, I just wanted to thank you for touching on the one thing that’s always frustrated me about playing gigs with my Fender Nashville Power Tele and Music Man JP-15, as I’ve hesitated to bring my Katana MkII to a gig because I really couldn’t find a more customized setting until now. I feel that it would be overkill to bring both the amp, along with my GT-1000, which I took the time to do this for different instruments anyway. Part of me wishes that Boss would allow you to upload a couple of my GT-1000 patches into the Katana MkII. We both know all the effects wouldn’t align. Anyway, thanks for this. Tom D.

I only just found out today that theirs a new tone studio update Ver 2.01 is for the 50MK2. I can't remember if its only for the mk2 or if it spans across them all. It made improvements to the HM-2 and Metal core. It came out September this year. I thought if people didn't know like me, they'd appreciate being told.👍👍

Really another great video Paul! I just got my Katana 100 mk2 a few days ago and started to try things out today. Unfortunately i can't achieve to dial in that great and clear tone (either clean oder distorted) i hear when i watch your videos. Especially with the overdrive tones there i get this annoying hiss and humming and furthermore when recording t daw via usb the incoming signal is really pretty low. Any suggestions on that except the Noise Suppressor - or is that the key? Many thanks if i could get a bit of help ;)

I have a question I need to connect my boss Katana MKII head + cabinet to my computer, via usb I access the software and ok. But is there a way to make me hear the katana coming out of the monitor speakers, with miking simulation and the real cabinet stays silent? Or do I really need a Reactive Loadbox+

Hi Paul, I’m new to your channel and really enjoying it. You have really inspired me to pick up a boss katana. I mentioned in another recent post that I’m a home rocker that keeps things at low volume. I play les Paul’s and tent to like crunch tones and a bit higher gain sound - maybe like a slash style gain - nothing super high gain. At any rate I have been impressed with the tones you’re getting and some of the patches you have created. Would you recommend the Katana 50 mark II for home use? Does that one come with a foot switch. I also have a Friedman penal like yours (actual to the BEOD deluxe) which seems to be a good option for this amp. Basically I just want to make sure I get the best version for what I do. I play at home and often ply to backing tracks and such. Does the software for the katana work on IOS/ phone? I currently use the old version of the Yamaha THR10 but want to try something new. Thanks!

If you are only changing the EQ then why not set up all 8 patches for single coil then use the global EQ (under system) to mod the EQ for humbucker. You can then use one of the external FCGA foot switches to turn the global EQ off (single coil) and on (humbucker). You can get a momentry footswitch off ebay for £15.

Someone please explain me why are these patches sound completely different on my Katana 100/212 MKII? I understand that i use a different guitar (Ibanez RG550 with DiMarzio D activator humbuckers) but I downloaded other patches too and they always sound so much worse then i heared in the video, they are not even close... Is it the EQ or what?
@TheStudioRats2 жыл бұрын
I’ve just looked up your pickups. Your D activator are high output pickups with a reduction in treble, I’m guessing it’s pushing the front of the Katana quite hard.
