You should have them to say a few sentences before giving out free tea. I dont think the african guys could speak that language, they just knew a few words. The man with the hungarian lady can't speak hungarian I can tell that. I am glad that you study hungarian because it is a hard language and great for people who likes languages. I have seen a few polyglots speaking it and they said they wanted to learn something that is different and challenging.

Hi Wouter! I don't know who the guy with the "hungarian" woman at 8:40 was, but he certainly didn't speak Hungarian. He said 2-3 words, but I couldn't figure out what it was. If it had been Hungarian, I would have understood, it is my mother tongue. You were fooled

Btw, Im Malaysian.The moment she said she speak Malay, Cantonese + Hokkien I am sure she must be a Malaysian. 😁👍👍😄 I frankly would consider u speak the language (Malay). Malay & Indo is like US & UK English..Its not entirely the same.But we can understand each other. You’re so inspirational! I’m so jealous, I would love to speak multiple languages but I always give up before getting anywhere. I grew up in Lebanon and honestly you speak better MSA than me but in terms of improving pronunciation, you could work on the harsh throaty sounds (idk if you know what I mean, but for example, the haa in hayawanat)

I've noticed that you, after being interrupted by someone else willing to try speaking to you, you end up leaving and ignoring the ones you were just speaking with before, standing there without you even thanking them for their time. Hello, thanks a lot for your feedback, I really appreciate it, because it's something where I should work on. First of all: it's never my intention to ignore someone and I really try my best to improve my attitude. Secondly: sometimes there are people passing who want to join the challenge too, and I have to make eye contact immediately to give them the feeling that they are welcome too. Last thing: switching between languages in short time takes a lot of energy, so sometimes it's hard to focus. But yo, your words really help me to find a good balance and I definitely want to improve my content. Cheers

He escuchado que los holandeses son más directos y concretos al hablar, y dirigirse a las personas. mientras que los que hablamos español, en latinoamerica o españa, somos más afectivos y nos quedaríamos más tiempo agradeciendo a la gente. Por ejemplo los italianos puede ser que haya sido un poco abrupto el saludo, pero nada grave. Por otro lado jamás le digas a un italiano que querés "conocer a la madre", se mal entiende mucho!. How about learning a bit of Irish Wouter. You run into Irish people every so often and while they nearly all pick up a bit of it at school I can't recall you speaking to many in these videos that had any real proficiency. You'd blow the minds of a few of them that don't know more than a few greetings and how to ask the teacher permission to leave the classroom.

I’m Turkish and watching this video with your Turkish interactions, all I have to say is practice your Turkish. Don’t get me wrong you can definitely speak it, but please practice it as it is difficult to understand you. Just practice the pronunciation of your Turkish words and you should be set.

@@WouterCorduwener You are speaking very well Wouter but i think you should improve yourself in suffix usage for example you said "Ben çok ülkeler gezmek istiyorum." thats actually not that wrong as a sentence but you could've said "Pek( or Bir) çok ülke/ülkeyi gezmek istiyorum." you dont need the use "Ben( I )" in the beginning because you are saying "istiyoru(m)" in the end and that "m" is already meaning "I" in English and also just because you said "çok" you dont need to make it plural the "ülke" word and its a little bit different to English and also hard to explain but in anyway you are speaking alright

Sign is so underrated! I grew up using some Sign Exact English with my brother but I'm trying to get into properly learning ASL over the next few years. Any suggestions on habits for practice/integrating it into one's life? It's so fundamentally different from spoken languages that I feel like there's a real lack of ways to practice with other people online & lack of information about the learning process.

My Nigerian brother 💃🏾💃🏾 lol We both speak the same language, it is called Igbo . Your channel pop up called it Nigerian & there’s no language like that . Igbo we hear is very , very hard to learn but you’d pick it up alongside 5 other Nigerian languages ( we speak 500 + languages minus English and Pidgin) Your videos are always lovely & whilst I watch , I try to also guess the languages because I have heard some or learnt some . It’s an adrenaline rush .

13:15 When you know you can't understand each other, you should put the politics aside, accept that Darija is a separate language, and give her a coupon. Because, isn't the ultimate point of speaking a same language to understand each other? You'd give two coupons for speaking Serbian and Croatian, Czech and Slovak, or Norwegian and Swedish, and those understand each other a lot better. What is a language is as much political as it is linguistic.

If you ran into someone from North East India you would have a real problem. Speaking at least 4 languages is normal here. We have languages like Garo, Assamese, Khasi, Hindi, Bengali, Pnar, Mizo, Karbi, Nepali, Meitei, Darlong, Mishmi, Galo, Ao, Nagamese, Kuki and the list goes on and on...

@@harmonwatson7511 No, they are all different languages belonging to different language families. Geographically this region is in India but culturally has more SE Asian vibes. Christianity is the biggest religion in at least 3 states here. It is a very weird melting pot.

@@WouterCorduwener When you put it that way, it would be pretty cool to learn more. Why don't you try to learn Khasi as it is known as a linguistic island. All the languages here are mostly from the Tibeto Burman, Indo European families but Khasi is Austro Asiatic. Khasi does not even have a script till the British colonized the area and the Welsh then developed a new alphabet. 'Kumno phi long' is how are you in Khasi 😁

Those italians where quite pissed off and a bit rude... the guy in the middle was joking about you asking him to know his mother..."Conoscere" really means to "know" a person ( even in a biblical sense), it doesn't mean " to meet" wich translates with "incontrare". You know italians are quite jealous of their mothers :D

Setelah ditunggu-tunggu ternyata Bahasa Indonesia ada di episode 4. Wouter bisa Bahasa Sunda dan Bahasa Jawa enggak? Itu bahasa daerah di Indonesia. Saya orang Sunda tapi nggak lancar Bahasa Sunda karena biasa pakai Bahasa Indonesia. Di google translate Sundanese itu Bahasa Sunda dan Javanese itu bahasa Jawa.
