quaaludes There are several ios ipad apps on Apples App store that allow you to run an old iphone as a camera and connect to it with your newer device running the same app . But if you have also upgraded your ipad and have the older device you can also run the app on that and just leave it plugged in as a display. The apps last I checked do not charge you for the service. Only if you use their hard drive service to store video for later retrieval. But at least you can just use it to monitor an area for free. I've got a screen shot of the app some where on this ipad ,. I'll look for it if you're interested...

If you want a really good camera system, buy a used 48 port network switch that has POE (power over ethernet) then pick up a bunch of IP cameras on ebay. They are powered by the network cables and you will have a more stable system. Wireless cameras are garbage. If you want the best cameras, look for some AXIS HD (or non-hd) IP Cameras. You can zoom in and out and view any angle.

They work pretty well , but i would recommend make sure you are not running around out side when you are uploading your KZbin Video!* They will take up 99% of your internet upload speed! But only when motion and few min after. But... Buy your own... Get one that Take micro SD cards... And you can choose to pay $5-10 per month for cloud storage "if" you are worried they will jack your camera off the wall.. or you dont know how to use a free one. crappy equipment they are selling is not even worth $400 bucks... you can buy your own for cheaper and have a better system
