Free Camping Hoosier National Forest

Out for a little Solo Dispersed camping in the Hoosier National Forest. Lots of little spots all over where you can pull in and camp for free. Gets you away from the crowded campgrounds. Sites were found using the Gaia GPS app. And just some driving around. Hope you enjoy this one. Let me know what I can do to improve my content.

Same general question concerning RV boondocking. Can a generator by ran. Looking to establish a hunting base camp for a few days.

It really depends on where your camping and how far out you are. Quiet ones you can get away with if no one can hear them. I have ran my inverter generator over night at idle but you couldn't hear it past my campsite. As far as running ac and larger generaters leave those to the designated areas and private property. Leave the sounds of nature as it is. I have been to the horse camps where people.where running them. Not sure the rule there but many people where.

As much i i love eggs i have never been a fan of sunny side up. I like them cooked all the way though. Thank you it was a great site. There are many like it out there. Hard to pick just one.

This was off of CR 1500 west not to far from the hickory ridge trail head. There where a lot of good spots in this area.

Nice video. I really like your low key style. One question I had about this area would it be possible to bring a trailer? Mine is 26 feet long and I usually camp at state parks with full hookups. I would like to try "boondocking" or off the grid type camping. Can you suggest any areas? Thanks

Thank you. Most of the dispersed spots would be tight to get into. But there are what the call Horse Camps there. They are not just for horses. I know of blackwell and hickory ridge i have videos at both of them. Perfect boondocking spots for campers and Rvs. And free.

The Dirt is what holds it together. Lol. Cots we use are coleman smartcomfort deluxe cots super comfy we also have a teton xxl cot which is the size of a twin bed.. its huge. Chickens free range and get oyster shells for added calcium. Next meetup I will be sure and bring you a few dozen.

So you can just go out there whenever you want and just find a spot? Can you go in winter?

Yes you can. There are some private property spots but most are well marked. Tons of spots you can just pull in and camp. You can find a list of dispersed camping rules on the dnr site.

We never have.. just basic gravel roads nothing bad. Would get a smoother ride but not needed. We camp there a lot in a bone stock ford escape.

@@gilbertwalker1233 Normally I wont give them out.. but this is a site marked well on the gaiagps map site. It pretty close to the Hickory Ridge Fire tower If I have the right one marked its here.. If not there are a lot of great sites all though this area. 39.02476, -86.31513

Bought a thermocell after that trip. So far it seems to help
