Oh boy! Memories of the black flies and mosquitoes in the UP! I will NEVER complain about the bugs in the west again! Nothing COMPARES to UP bugs! I hope you find a yooperlite!

Hey thanks for the shoutout! Not so many places in Michigan… we hope to be there later this summer. We have hung out many a time with Shane and Kelsey… they don’t need our help finding spots….they are as adventurous as we are!
@LoveHut4Life Жыл бұрын
😂 they definitely do! We adore those 3 and have been friends for years! We occasionally share spots, but I think we agree that half the adventure is finding them ourselves.

Thought of you all as I went out yesterday for my last chance to find sunstones. It was wind, not mosquitoes that sent Freckles and I inside. Good thing too as I had run out of bug spray! My spidy senses told me to pack up so was surprised when I woke to snow! Isn’t it June and wasn’t I just in the desert? Beautiful place you’re at.

Those sun stones are awesome!! I’ve been admiring your pictures:) No snow for us, but we’re pretty far south of you now and still cold!

I grew up in SW Florida & we camped every weekend to feed the mosquitos 😂 and no-see-ums 😜 I now carry Thermocell wherever I go. My older skin no longer tolerates deet. Long sleeves/long pants/hat/etc for walks 🤷 LOL. If all else fails-tun... 🙏🙏💞

Mosquitoes are bad until like mid/late July. If you ever return to the UP, visit in August or September. If you don't mind snow, there's no bugs in winter lol (Don't ever visit in April, could rain, will likely snow, you never know, either way it's a sloppy soggy time of year). Even the locals can't pronounce Chequamegon, but Nicolet is nickolay. Also, this is no help anymore I'm sure, but unless something has changed recently, you could've just parked at the top of Bond Falls or on the dam/dike and walked down.

Good advice! I’d love to see it in August. Our video that is currently uploading shows a lot more of the UP. We did wind up really enjoying it. It will be out as soon as I can get it to upload. We work off cell service and we have some here, but it’s slow. 😂😂 I never would have guessed I was pronouncing Nicolette wrong 😂

Did you watch the video? All the information you need is there. If you are looking for exact coordinates, you are in the wrong place. That’s not what we do here, and if we did the spots wouldn’t be worth going to.
