I absolutely love the North Rim; I’ve been there twice. The first time was in mid May, and those fields were still covered in snow and ice. We took that side road off the main one-the one you guys took-and camped somewhere overlooking the east rim; it was actually a small, primitive campground.

I heard someone say if you're going to be Boondocking, two items you need to have are an Angle Grinder and a Chainsaw. In the event of a situation like a Forest Fire you might need to cut a fallen tree out of your path or cut through a chain on a locked gate as a means of escape.

The first time I came to the North Rim it blew me away! It seemed so much more intimate and spectacular than the South Rim, and I did return years later. But wait, there's more to be seen! Toroweap Point, 50 miles or so downriver, even beats North Rim for the most incredible Grand Canyon experience to be had without hiking in. In dry weather a rig like yours could make it fairly easily to the campground at Toroweap, with a short walk to the rim from there. My dad and I drove to the rim in my old VW bus without incident. There's a lot of KZbin videos out there showing the drive and the rim experience. It's a tedious few hours driving in and out but absolutely worth it.

+Spooky Donkey that can be true for National parks…. Although we don’t push the boundaries…. But wilderness areas you cannot fly under 2000ft without a permit… so that completely rules out drone flying!!! Also in some wilderness areas if you are caught with a drone on your person they can/will confiscate it!

Dear Dave, if I may...everyone knows something, no one knows everything, myself included. I want to encourage you to begin being mindful of breathing through your nose. Avoid the mouth breathing. It takes practice at first. The affect on your mind and body is profound, regarding me mental well being and body function. Applying this to all aspects of life is transformative. Obviously I am not addressing when you are speaking hon. Also, lightly touch the front roof of your mouth near your upper teeth with just the very tip of your tongue in between both rows to ensure no jaw or teeth stress. This to is transformative. Also, sardines rock! We get the spring water ones from TJ's. About 20 grams of whole food protein and omega 3's, $1.30! Our cat and dog get their omega 3's from them as well. Sardines being so small, they just don't build up the toxins of larger fish, though I/we regularly eat albacore tuna in water and smoked oysters dressed up different ways, yum! Cheers, Dave!
