They're anchoring. If they start with a ridiculously low offer, and the community complains, they can then change it to what it should have been in the first place and also pretend they're being generous by increasing the rewards significantly. It's scummy for sure, but it's also a very common tactic in business / negotiation. At this point nobody should be surprised, since they are a business after all and monetary gain will always be their foremost priority/goal.

There is proper scientific research regarding human psychology showing that it's easier to make a mistake and apologize afterwards than to ask for permission before. The developers really did their research and act accordingly. ^^ They try to push the limits of what's acceptable in terms of pricing, rewards etc. every goddamn single time. =/

I feel like there is a monthly resource distribution limit that they try to maintain. If they "increase" rewards in one area it means they will likely decrease a future event's rewards. There is no such thing as a free lunch, my friends.

@Volkin: I'd definitely go for Supreme+ Talene, since you invested so much into her already and they'll add an item to go from 4 to 5 stars (level 20 to 25) immediately in the next event. And usually having fewer but stronger characters is better in this game compared to many weak to mediocre ones. Having a solid roaster of Mystic+ (or higher) heroes for every faction is beneficial of course. :)

its better rewards but it doesn't address the incentive of pushing. Essentially what these rewards mean is that after reaching 560 reso the game is just daily dream realm. Theres no point to playing anything else since rewards are pretty minimal past that.

Yeh base rewards buffed is good, the rewards capping at 10k is kinda brutal due to the fact that the post 10k rewardss give a power return on diamond investment for afk boosts. Although it was never going to be cost effective to be spending diamonds on refreshes past the soft level cap as unless you needed those level to hit the regular reward cap you would need to be getting 25 diamonds per point of exp over 10k for it to break even for the 50 diamond refresh. This is not feasible since the buffed initial rewards are only 6 diamonds of value per point no where near the 25 we would need. From this we can determine that the sole purpose of spending to boost afk progress is to get an early advantage in ranking in early season.

@@iamache1 It always feels like the devs are trying to emphasize that this is an AFK game. They want you to log on, level up, push 10 levels, then log off. They never meant for this game to have "an end" and don't plan on incentivizing players into bashing their heads against a brick wall for 40 hours per week "progressing." When the enemies start killing you in 1 hit, log off.

I love the game cuz it’s something I can rank highly in while only playing for less than 30 minutes a day. It’s an afk game and it works for me cuz I don’t revolve my life around it. It’s not my main game, just something I play in my free time. I think it’s meant to be treated as such.

Even with this great improvement, the rewards feel sooo stingy again! Grinding and pushing in the season really wasn't worth it all. =/ Just one example: There are currently 52 regular heroes in the game (not counting Chippy and Hammie) with 3 Magic Charm slots each, which in turn have 10 different Mythic Charms each = 1560 Mythic Charms in total. But they only reward having collected up to 400… There's also no reward for pushing AFK stages. Not even some rankings with cosmetic rewards like titles and frames as usual. =/

Talene to mythic+ without a doubt, she's my favorite Hypogean. With all of these gems I will probably secure one copy of Mikola and I finally got florabell, so got all heroes finally. These devs feel more like Dislyte ones than afk arena. Dislyte would always give us the lowest of the low with everything UNTIL there was some noise from the community and then they would inevitably buff it. It just feels like they deciding how far they can push us while also pretending that it was a simple "mistake". Do they even play their own game. And its even more frustrating because I KNOW for a FACT that things will only improve but they're going at such a slow pace that it could take months or years even.

That's why I try not to complain too much, as a complete F2P I am very happy so far with how many units I have been able to progress. Upgrading to supreme seems to be the bottleneck, you have to be extremely careful who you choose.
