I just made this! I have the smallest Kindel, 6", and I followed this pattern exactly but used a size 5mm (H) hook with 5 yarn. Came out perfect. I just has to add another round of SC at the very end. Instead of the flower, I worked up a Star Trek insignia and attached it. Thanks for the great video!

Brilliant video! I just wish you’d shown where you’re slip stitching on each round, are you slip stitching into the previous slip stitch, the chain 1 (on rounds 2&3) or the first worked stitch? If I slip stitch into the first worked stitch, there’s a small gap in joining each round. Thank you so much!

I wish you had a pattern of this for flat panels. I hate working in the round so want to go the panel route and sew together for the sleeve. I think I can figure it out but what I would chain at the end of the rows is what’s throwing me off. Ugh!
@Savlabot7 күн бұрын
@@chelsieharrison7219 I am not a fan of sewing pieces together so that is why it is worked in the round. This is how I chose to make this cover for my Kindle and I thought I would share how I did it. I don’t have a good suggestion for the best way to sew panels together as it is not something I do. I do have a washcloth pattern that uses this stitch and I work the sides up differently, that pattern could possibly be used as the start and the end of each row is different and it might make for an easy way to sew two pieces together. You can find that pattern here savlabot.com/?p=2301

I'm lost at round 4 or 5. I think I'm same page but my tail of yarn that was at beginning is on the wrong side as yours. This is the first time I've done anything besides blankets. I'm not sure how you're doing the edge and starting other side
@Savlabot3 ай бұрын
It may be that you turned your work instead of continuing onto the backside of the foundation chain. In order to make this in the round you need to work the first row onto both the front and back loop of the foundation chain. With a blanket after the first round you turn the work, you don't want to do that in this pattern. This pattern is worked in the round so you should always end each round back at the beginning where your tail yarn is. Hopefully this helps.

Thank you so much for this beautiful pattern! The sleeve measures 5x8 inches but doesn't the paperwhite Kindle measure 5x7? Your Kindle seems to fit perfectly but it seems the sleeve would be an inch too long?
@Savlabot20 күн бұрын
Thank you, I am glad you like the sleeve. It is a snug fit, and the measurement is about 1" longer than the paperwhite, I think because of the thickness of the kindle it makes it shorter once the device is in it...I am not sure the best way to describe this. I think because of the thickness of the yarn and how it is crocheted flat, when it opens (or expands) to hold the device it makes it shorter...I hope that makes some sense.
@rosevillalobos19 күн бұрын
@@SavlabotMakes perfect sense. Thank you for responding! ❤

Which direction are you turning your work after each round? I got to the first round of sc + ch 1 and to the end of Rnd 4. Then Rnd 5 started the bobble stitch but I didn't have any ch 1 spaces on the other side of the round, if that makes sense.
@Savlabot6 ай бұрын
This is crocheted in the round, so you won't turn your work. You work all stitches in the same direction. After you join in the round using the slip stitch you keep going onto the next stitch. I hope that helps.

@Savlabot5 ай бұрын
@@Bellachris75 I am so sorry you are having trouble. The pattern is worked in the round, but not continuously, so when you get to the end of the round you are back at the beginning of the round.
