It´s not your Job to work on a visible ear infection. Never ever spray fluids into such a sensitive ear, even when the dog shows you that you hurt him badly ! If the fluid is trapped in the middle ear then he faces very intense and serious pain and have to visit a emergency Vet! So let it be it´s not your dog but you have to tell the owner what he have to do!

This takes me back. I had a CS when I was a teen who was very sweet like this guy and always having issues with matting. Once we started just shaving his coat off, he was always so much happier.

God bless you to help the owner and the beautiful dog. Some people made stupid comments without paying attention what you did say. THE OWNER IS IN A WHEELCHAIR. This person may have to choose to buy medication and have food in the table and as much as she/he wants to spend money on her dog, she/he cannot afford it. We need to be more empathetic one to another.

What a bummer he was so matted, his coat was absolutely beautiful long. My cocker is always kept in full coat, never shaved down, not even on his neck or the tops of his feet. It's a lot of daily brushing, but I love the long billowy hair.

Beautiful show cocker. We have a lovely English chocolate roan one and their ears are particularly difficult to keep matt free. We shave ours short especially due to seeds, etc getting stuck in their coat. They have the most wonderful tempermanent too.

Bless you for doing this for the dog. I don’t think people know how painful mats are for the dogs. He looks like an older pup but he is beautiful. I don’t understand why some people get dogs that need to be groomed or at least brushed regularly when they can’t or don’t want to do that or can’t afford it. I know some owners have changes in their health that limit what they can do. I’ve got a Boston terrier and she just needs a bath once in a while.

I had several Cocker's growing up. constant care with the ears. Rascal had to be put down because they couldn't get the infection cleared up in two years. I'm sorry the owner is struggling. It may st be difficult for them.
