The "sparse production" is one of the things that I love about Free. So many bands just overdo things with production and over-playing. Great album that I will never get tired of hearing and wonderful to hear Paul Rodgers' memories of it. If only Andy Fraser and Paul Kossoff were still here to give their recollections.

Is that you Paul? I think Free are one of my all time favourite bands. Oddly enough I became aware of you via that Wrigley Chewing Gum advert! I bought a cassette "The Free Story" and wore it out travelling in the Himalaya on my Walkman! To this day I still sing "Heavy Load" while hiking in the Alps! My kids don't appreciate my genius!.

They may have been the most mature hard rock act out there which is strange when you consider that they were the youngest band out there too. A baby band. All teenagers on their first 2/3 albums.
