We used to get more of variety but with the poor economy, donations are low. It is nice to receive treats,as that is usually what is left out of the food budget.

So true! Yes I would never be able to afford all the cakes and baked goods on our limited income, it really was such a treat! I'm still using the bread I froze from this haul now, it's been a huge help.

I go to my local Township Monday through Friday they give free local newspaper baked goods and bread sometimes they have fruit and vegetable they have a food pantry on Wednesday. Because of the snow strong winds and cold temperatures they have shut down some banks library pantries and other businesses Thursday and Friday or til Monday. A few food pantries are closed till after the first of the year I live in Central Illinois US.

That's good to know, I'm looking forward to trying them later on as a dessert treat! Yes was so nice to get some extras today, it will really help out over the next couple of weeks while the food bank is closed.

Hi Charmaine! No I haven't got any dampers from the food bank - yet. They're good aren't they?! My Mum quite often made dampers when I was a kid, they're so nice when hot out of the oven with golden syrup on top! Thanks for watching😊

We are in South Australia and have a great local food bank based in Berri and they travel on a fortnightly run around the river towns and down into the Mallee, we are blessed and don't need it but support them where we can and with the floods happening here they have a great need for goods. Our local community have just finished their Christmad Appeal where they give out Christmas food bank boxes and gifts to all family members.

They'll be closed for approximately 2 weeks at the end of this week over the Christmas holiday and New Year period, which is not unusual for organizations and businesses here in Australia at this time of year.

Thanks, yes lucky I'm a planner and have put some bread in the freezer! But I'm sure there are many in my community that'll miss the foodbank not being open for that time though.
