Refunds available anytime before song request is published!
Due to the overwhleming volume of requests i'm recieveing i'm only accepting songs that are 8 minutes long or under. I have no choice but to make this restriction guys, i've done a bunch of lengthy songs but since the channel has grown i just won't be able to keep up if i continue this. I truly appreicate you guys' undertsanding and support! Thank you for rocking with me!
Please set up PayPal or Cashapp for paid requests guys, I love yall! Paypal is preferred because i can use your email address to contact you unlike CashApp
Paid requests usually uploaded within 10-14 days of payment, i do 10 reactions a day but every once and awhile i will take a day off. If you've put in multiple requests understand that i do click the links randomly to keep you guys off guard, it's more fun that way :) . Fast car is a song about coming full circle. Mom leaves dad because he's a drunk and she wants more to life. Daughter quits school to take care of dad. Daughter sees she getting stuck in a cycle, meets a man full of promises;and gets excited to runaway from said cycle. Daughter commits to the man and keeps hoping. Daughter finally realizes too late that, her husband fell in the cycle;became a drunk like her dad,and she became her mom. She got rid of him,but she's still stuck in the trap;and will die this way. Then it starts all over again with their kids...full circle=generational.

I remember when this song first came out, everyone was stunned at her honesty and grace.

The part where you thought she was giving up, now she was working but he was just going out drinking and spending more time with his friends than his kids…I think she was giving him an ultimatum. At first they both had to make a decision to leave tonight or live and die this way; now he has to make the same decision for himself, because she is carrying all the weight. (Just as she had with her father at the beginning.) At least that’s how I hear it.

This is one of the greatest songs ever written but it's damn serious. I've listened to it many times and I still shed a tear about this beautifully told story of being trapped in a downward spiral.

She finally left home with someone who held out the promise of something better. In the end, it wasn't better. Hence the downward spiral. Did I say this was the greatest song ever written (one of them)?

There are rare times when you get the combination of a unique voice with achingly beautiful melody & lyrics creating absolute perfection. This is one of those times. This got serious radio & video play on MTV when it was released & it always made me stop to listen. Stunning!

It’s such a timeless, evocative piece of music. When it came out in 1988 I was only 11 but I remember thinking “I’ve never heard anything like this before” and I still think the same thing today! Wonderful work of art.

I've always loved her voice & the stripped down acoustic accompaniment on this one. To reach down deep requires the divesting of herd mentality, though in her case I'd wager she never subscribed to it anyway. Wonderful request, one I'd have made myself, and equally insightful reaction 👌

Broken dreams. The person she loved and hoped and dreamed with turns out to be a wastrel. Here's the verse: You got a fast car I got a job that pays all our bills You stay out drinking late at the bar See more of your friends than you do of your kids I'd always hoped for better Thought maybe together you and me would find it I got no plans I ain't going nowhere So take your fast car and keep on driving...

This was played a lot on MTV when I was a teen (and I think at that point it had already been out for a few years), but surprisingly seemed to disappear off the radio (even ones that play older songs).

Her, Nina Simone, and Billie Holiday are the best with turning a phrase into a thing. Their vocals are singular. You'll always recognize their voices.

I don't think that she "gave up." In a sad case of reality... she grew up and matured, in terms of her responsibilities. There's a saying that goes (mostly said by women)... "I can do bad by myself." So if he's not "kicking in" with his share, to help pay the bills and take care of the kids... then he needs to take his fast car and get "to stepping!" She, like a responsible adult now... realized that once you have kids, they become the A#1 priority. That is not to say, however, that all dreams and aspirations have to be given up, once you have children. Great reaction!
