getting some more work done on the free go kart that was left out for a long time, lets just say the tires were not wanting to play well with me. so we are going to try flex seal on the inside to see if it will fix the side wall leaks. then we go engine shopping in the shed for a better power plant.

Grandpa used to use #1 Red Permitex to seal the rusty rims on old cars. Wire brush them, apply #1 and mount the tire. Worked every time.

I like the way you think Mustie! I don't think KZbinrs like you realize the impact you make on youth who don't have a real life positive influence. Folks like you, Jennie's Garage, ChrisFix & Tyler's Neighborhood Garage are some of my all time favorite people to watch. It's calming for me and I learn a lot. So, just a big Thank You!

He had a much worse problem with those tires and rim. When you put Slime in you have to run the tire in circles for a while or it will not work. My tractor tires were in pretty bad shape and I put a half bottle in both and mowed the one and a half acres that I have. Then drove to the pretzel store and ate lunch about a half mile from my house. That was 2 years ago and neither tire has leaked since. Like the Zen Master said... We will see.

Hi I'm Don. I had some lawn tractor tires in as bad shape as these. At Tractor Supply(Berryman Tire Sael-R) the gal. bottle will fix these tires with 6 - 8 oz. Mine were so bad I aired them up to mow and they would go flat while mowing. After treatment they are still full of air after 6 months.

Experience tells me that when you are sealing a weld inside a rim that could potentially leak, Use an epoxy 2 part glue to seal it first. A fast cure would be fine. Any air dry material will never hold as you found out unless it uses the moisture in the air to cure it like a windshield urethane sealant or even a silicone sealer

Dear Mustie1, you should think about "investing" in a tig, cleaner, more accurate, less fire hazard, and that does not make holes in the wheels ...... and if you choose in a tig ac / dc you can weld aluminum. When using a puller, it works so much better if you put tension on it then hit the head of the pusher bolt with a hammer. Then more tension then hit with hammer again. This method makes short work of a job that just tightening the puller alone won't budge.

That handyman in a can is a new idea. What I've always done with a tire that's shot like that is put about a half tube of alumaseal mixed with about 12oz of antifreeze. It doesn't hurt the rubber, won't rust the wheel and will continue to seal future leaks. Has worked every time that I've tried it.

Two things....Heat on Both sides of the wheel flange to axle (no puller welded on) Now, after heat is applied twice even if it doesn't work at first, as it cools use your penetrating oil and leave it sit maybe overnight & then repeat the heat on both sides. I bet it'd come off. Secondly I'd look into buying new tires. Just my opinion

Ok, a 20 or 22hp motor and 31" tall lawn tractor tires shaped like a ford 9n tractors tires so they dig in the dirt then some 15" frt wheels Change out the steering set up and add disk brakes paint the whole deal. You could get 45 50 mph out of it. I once watched a shop put a Honda 750 motor on the back of one. Guys have done some wiled stuff with these go carts to make them very fast. But you need good braking system because at some point youve go to be able to stop. It goes from a kids toy to an adult thrill machine.

You could put "White Out Pen" (your next sponsor :-)) lines on the socket when you are loosening large nuts with the impactor. It would make the progress stand out. I could see it move when you removed the axle nuts but that would be cool to see the stripes go by. Or maybe a spiral! :-) Man, that 3-IN-ONE penetrant works great, and fast. I already knew that, just commenting for those who may not have used it before.
