I like Tom's teaching also. I had to quit watching him though because he often said "shame on you." I consider that proclaiming a curse. Maybe I'm wrong but my mother said that a lot and I grew up feeling shame on me all the time. It was probably the heaviest spiritual battle I dealt with for years.

@@BibleLine Well I don’t think it’s true that’s all It’s too good to be true, but there is a lot of truth to it, and the heart behind Free Grace I think is a home run as well Here is the definition of Pure not mixed or adulterated with any other substance or material. In this sense, I think Free Grace is the most pure of other theologies, because it’s %100 trusting in Jesus While this message is more pure than other teachings, it’s not as true True means “in accordance with fact or reality” I am a Friendship Salvationist, meaning I believe you must be a Friend of God to be saved. This isn’t a belief that Free Gracers have, obviously Matthew 7:23 Jeremiah 9:24 James 2:23 John 17:3 All talk about the importance of being God’s Friend Hebrews 12:6 says you must be a Friend of God to receive his discipline, and Hebrews 12:8 says you won’t be saved without it The amount of people that will enter Heaven, who hate God or do not Love God, expressed as a percentage and rounded to a whole number is exactly 0 This is why it’s important to tell people to Fear the LORD, and even to turn from sins, and more importantly, to Love God The word “believe” in the English means something different than “believe” in the Greek, as that word is “pistus” which means “personification of Faith”. I read a book called “Saved by allegiance alone”, which stressed the Greek meaning of believe. While having Jesus as Savior is important, it’s also important to have Jesus as LORD Jesus Christ is much more important than “The Good News” or “The Gospel” I also believe that there are different types of gifts If I give a homeless man $100, and walk away, this is an unconditional gift. I didn’t tell him that he had to spend the money a certain way, and I don’t expect something in return. Free Gracers assume that the Gospel is an unconditional gift 🎁 If I give a woman an engagement ring (for free), this is a conditional gift 💍 I expect her to give up all the other guys and commit to marrying me if she accepts this gift 💝 The truth of scripture is that God is giving us a conditional gift, that he is freely giving us Grace, but expects us to give up all our idols and gods, and to make God our ultimate lover So while I do believe Free Grace theology has merit (ironically), and while I also believe it is the left wing of Orthodox Christianity, I don’t think it is the whole truth, unfortunately

Anybody else here ever get mixed up in the hamster wheel of the “salvation prayer”? I must have said that thing like 2,000 times. It was always presented by pastors as some kinda magic chant you say and “poof” now you have salvation! The idea of just believing seemed impossible to me at one time but not anymore! God knows our thoughts so of course why wouldn’t believing be enough??

Believing is enough. Prayer is simply the means of talking to God. Most pastors that believe in this salvation prayer idea confuse the gospel altogether, and they also make prayer a MUST in order to be saved. It gets confused in all sorts of ways. The Bible says if you believe in Jesus Christ's payment for your sin, He gives you eternal life in that instant. You can understand that and pray it to the Lord, but believing it is what saves. - Trent

@@BibleLine yep. Getting saved was always like a two or three step process it seemed. First was belief, then it was the prayer. Almost like “ok great you believe now! Just pray to make it complete or to finish it off”. I’ve told people if they’d like to pray to express their faith that’s fine but it’s not necessary or the “final step” to getting saved. Wow, that is exactly my experience with the sinners prayer. I had so much worry and fear in the past because I always questioned: did I say the right thing? And I prayed it countless times, just to make sure that I did it right but I never got assurance. But I thank God, that He allowed me to realised that it’s faith and faith ALONE. There is only ONE condition to have eternal life. Not two, not three... Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name did many wonderful works? Why then does Jesus say Depart from me I never knew you ye that work iniquity? He's not double minded Those are works that He told us to do Matt 10:28 John 14:12 Mark 16:15-17 Clearly they had some type of knowledge of God to do those works. He doesn't say, you trusted in your works He says I never knew you (in scripture "knew" means intimately) They never acknowledged and repented of their sins, they didn't have a personal relationship with Him. They were pointing to their works as evidence they knew Him Foolishly believed false teachers that teach repentance is works God didn't know them because they hadn't been regenerated, forgiven of their sins and died in them.

This is one of the few teachers that actually teach the word faithfully. While I am a strong advocate myself of researching other view points, I will always search for the truth itself. That being both dogmatically and ontologically. You remind me of a few other teachers like Dr Gene Kim, Robert Breaker, Thomas Cucuzza, Kent Hovind, and a few other really strong dispensationalists! I can not thank you enough for calling out lordship salvation because it is, in my estimation, the biggest heresy that has been seeping into the church for a long time, especially since Billy Graham. I have 54 years in Christ, and sadly 30 of those years, I was mixed up in Lordship Salvation. I learned of the Gospel when I was 7 years old, and as a young man, I was "Galatianized" into that lie. There is always a "but" in any works salvationist "gospel". They blow kisses to Jesus, and His sacrificial death. A typical Lordshipper will tell you that Jesus' sacrifice was an example of selflessness and obedience even unto death. They are making themselves into false christs. When I was in that heresy, Matthew 7:21-23 used to TERRIFY ME. Of course typical Lordshippers/Arminians love to throw those verses at people who aren't solid in Grace, and I tell them to show me in verse 22 where those people ever trusted Christ alone for salvation, but instead, they trusted their own works to save them.

What is the will of God Jesus speaks of in Mat 7:21 (Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven)? The answer is found in Joh 6:40 (And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day). A man sends himself to hell by rejecting the free gift of eternal life through Christ by faith in God's promise that we are receivers of Grace when we believe. Romans and Galatians is a fount of knowledge regarding is being saved by Grace and not of works. Matthew 7:22 is used by works for salvationists to prove works are required but it actually shows the opposite.

I know this video is 2 years old, but i just wanted to say, i completely agree with pastor jesse about feeling uncomfortable with ending a conversation with someone who isnt free grace and says: "we worship the same thing." Because its not the same thing. I got into a discussion with a works salvationist and he got so frustrated with me because i disagreed with his beliefs. He asked me why i couldnt just accept the fact that his beliefs are different? I said to him "because your eternity depends upon it!" I dont understand the thought process when they say "lets just agree to disagree because we are both going to heaven even though we believe in different ideas about how one is saved." NO! Absolutley not so! And i dont mean that in a pompoud, arrogant or prideful way. It is quite literally your eternal salvation at stake if you dont get it right. Salvation, as the bible says multiple times, is OF CHRIST ALONE! if you dont believe that and you think your works get you there, im sorry and sad to say, you worship an idolistic version of jesus who tells you that you can be good enough to get to heaven on your own. That isnt the jesus of the bible. He said "I AM THE WAY, THE LIFE, AND THE TRUTH. NOBODY COMES TO THE FATHER BUT BY ME." He didnt say together with your help, i am the way...... its christ alone or nothing. I almost think people who say that arent very confident in their beliefs because if they were, theyd be saying the same thing to us. That salvation must be by works. And they arent 100% confident in that, but they cant overcome their cognitive dissonance from being taught that from childhood and so they just cave and say "agree to disagree." Its sad really.

I think I am free grace. I think it is a beautiful doctrine and it makes perfect sense from a biblical perspective and it really shows the simplicity of the gospel. Unfortunately however I am stuck between free grace and the ray comfort "repent of your sins" doctrines. I want to believe free grace however from what I've seen most Christians don't believe it and personally where I go to church, while they are wonderful people and they mean well I am surrounded by people who have bought into the repent of your sins doctrine. From what it seems there are no other churches near me that I know of which are free grace. Most from what it seems believe in repenting from tour sins to be saved. I am praying all the time and learning to trust God however I havn't a clue what to do.

The main thing to remember is that repentance with regards to salvation is referring to a change of mind. The individual who believes in Christ has changed their mind. Often people are told to repent because they need to change their mind about Jesus! They need to believe in him. Hence in Acts 2:38, Peter was literally pleading with the Jews who killed Jesus. They needed to change their minds about who Jesus is (GOD in the flesh!) and believe in Him. Second, maybe you can be the one to start a solid ministry? Or you could reach those individuals in the church with the clarity of the gospel. We will pray for you in this regard, but please ask any questions. I also believe, because I've felt the change in me, that the Holy Spirit changes your desires to go after Godliness. I don't want to sin. I'm not indifferent about it when I do. Ive also had a debate with a pastor over quora, who taught works based salvation and si less perfection to be saved. I refuted him with scripture and told him its faith in christ and there is not a thing we can do to earn salvation. He asked me my age and i knew what was coming next. I told him i am 41 years old and he said, "ive been in ministry for 40 years and ive read the bible multiple times, cover to cover, front to back, and i know the word of God well." I told him that may be that you read it many times front to back, but you are wrong. Ive read it once, front to back and the bible says it is by faith alone in jesus christ in which we are saved." It proves a few things. Age doesnt always mean wiser, and reading the bible multiple times doesnt prove or mean anything if you didnt understand it correctly, and you need the holy spirit to understand much of what is in the bible. When i told him that, he told me he was going to block me and delete the entire conversation. I wasnt speaking out of pride. I was just trying to show him that we cannot do it. We need the holy spirit and we need christ alone for salvation. Its really sad he got so offended that he deleted the whole conversation. Maybe i handled it incorrectly, but hes not the first or only one who deleted my comments about free grace and the true gospel of jesus christ. Its like the enemy is actively trying to purge all information of it.

My sister is a unbeliever. My friend is marrying her and my other friend is his best man. All 3 are atheists. Please pray for them. I have sent her a video long ago of where Ruckman draws the thief on the cross and simply believing Jesus paid for our sins is what saves us. But after a few days we had a conversation over the phone of our one friend that passed away( she was into the occult, drawing satanic stuff and mocking Jesus, and drawing circles in the forest, and one eye symbolism etc, and I told my sister about those things and she basically got offended of me talking stuff like that about her friend who BTW commited suicide. And in the same conversation she said she respects my beliefs but that she does not want to talk about religion. She also read the Dan Brown books. What can I do to plant a seed? She is getting married next weekend and does not even want a preacher to marry them.

I know this comment is nearing a year old now, but you have nothing to worry about. The moment you spoke to her about the gospel and how we get saved etc, is the very moment you planted a seed. Often times, when a farmer plants his garden, some of the seeds sprout and grow, some sprout, grow for a bit and then stop.some grow and wither. And still some don't grow immediately, and very few here and there don't grow at all and so need to be recultivated and replanted. You've planted the seed. All you need to do is allow the holy spirit to tend to it and pray it sprouts. You don't have to keep nagging at your sister about it as it may make her even more hardened against it. But that doesn't mean you can't ask her if you can pray for her or show her God's love etc. Just remember to be patient and stay patient. Hope all works out. God bless.

While I love the teaching of free grace and would give anything for it to be true, especially seeing that it can absolutely be proven from the bible, I am troubled that from what it seems throughout church history from the early Church onwards while some ideas existed that a person could be saved by simple faith alone without works or repenting from sins etc the idea that you could be saved, then stop believing in christ and walk away from the faith and still be saved to my knowledge is not found anywhere throughout church history. While the doctrine of eternal security has existed throughout church history it was only believed in from a perseverance of the saints perspective. They never taught that a believer could stop believing and still be saved. If there is an answer to this then that would be great.

Also John 5:24 states that when someone believes in Christ he is 1) given eternal life, 2) will no longer come into condemnation and 3) is passed from death unto life. Let the scripture please speak for itself. I urge you to avoid the creeds and doctrines of men that do not adhere to scripture. The entire basis of TULIP and Calvinism is that of erroneous teachings of men that are without scriptural basis. It's funny you mention about people relying on commentaries rather than the Holy Ghost. I remember when I believed in judaism as a non jew I would read tanakh and enjoying it. I remember noticing however in their religion that while Tanakh is the central text of judaism they also believe that without the "Oral torah" and thousands upon thousands of commentaries etc it was unintelligible and useless on its own. So they had castrated the authority of the written word over the traditions and commentaries of men. Thereby I would read it but couldn't look at it the same as the commentaries just ruined and perverted the plain meaning of the text. It's very unfortunate that the same thing has crept into the christian faith also. Relying on the traditions and commentaries of men rather than the holy spirit of God. To paraphrase the bible: "cursed is the man who trusts in flesh and blood"

It's time to return back to the Gospel that was preached by the early disciples. Adhering to the "Saved by grace alone" or "Just believe" doctrine while throwing all the other verses out the window is a pretty gutsy move. That would tell me that the apostle Paul was going around, preaching a gospel that goes beyond "faith alone". Paul said in Galatians 1:9 that everyone is accursed that preaches another gospel than the one he preached. Taking only Acts 16:30-31 as the entirety of the bible would tell us that no repentance of any kind is needed for salvation. Acts 16:30 Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” 31 And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” In addition, only the person asking what he needed to do to be saved would need to "believe". This infers that the rest of his household could be complete atheists, yet would be saved. Are we having a contest to water down the Word of God until it has absolutely no effect? If so, the entire population of earth should read ONLY Titus 3:5 and see that Jesus already saved us by His mercy and we don't have to do a single thing. Titus 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost If we take this one verse literally, without reading any other in the bible, one could come to the conclusion that: 1) They don't even need to "Believe in Jesus" to be saved, because this verse doesn't say anything about belief. 2) They don't need to hear the Word 3) They don't need to read the Word 3) No relationship with God/Jesus/Holy Spirit is needed. 4) Hell is completely empty because everyone already got saved by His "mercy". 5) Sin as much as you want to, because repentance (to turn away from sin) wasn't specifically mentioned in this verse, either. If this is the case, then ask yourself: Why is there even a judgment of man (Revelation 20:12-15)? Why is there a Gospel? And why is there even a Bible? If one is going to take the "minimalist" doctrine to the nth degree, then you should end up with something similar to the above. Take this approach and you will eventually find out that God is NOT playing around. He will not be mocked and ignored. In flaming fire, God will take vengeance on those that do not know Him and do not obey the Gospel of Jesus Christ (2 Thessalonians 1:8-9). The Word of God commands us to make our calling and election "sure", not "minimal" (2 Peter 1:10). It also instructs us to study the word to show ourselves approved (2 Timothy 2:15). The best policy is to read the ENTIRE Word of God for yourself to find out what the TRUE DOCTRINE and TRUE GOSPEL really is and then OBEY that gospel. If you are genuinely seeking God on this topic, He will most definitely fill in the blanks on any questions you have. All you have to do is ask Him in sincerity. When the disciples preached the Gospel, what did the hearers of that Gospel actually do? 1) They repented. 2) They got baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of their sins. 3) They received the Promise of the Father - The baptism of the Holy Ghost. If a person truly BELIEVES the gospel, they will OBEY the gospel. In addition, once that individual experiences the grip of sin unravelling and being removed from their life and the POWER of the Holy Ghost living inside, they will NOT be ashamed of that gospel, even as Paul declared in Romans 1:16. God provided the plan of salvation for all men, women and children when He was under no obligation to do so. This is the very demonstration of His grace and mercy. The problem with arguing against Lordship salvation is that one can argue so hard against works that they take it over the edge and completely IGNORE and therefore REJECT the instructions given from the Gospel, stating that those are works as well. THIS IS DECEPTION OF THE HIGHEST ORDER. Do yourself a HUGE favor. Don't take reckless chances with your salvation. OBEY the TRUE GOSPEL.

Sooo… pretty much what you’re saying is that you believe in works for salvation. Got it 👍🏼. If you don’t believe you’re saved eternally the moment you believe in the Gospel then you’re not saved. Period. Jesus did all the work. All he asks of us is to BELIEVE that he did it for us. Stop 🛑 counting on your works as proof of your salvation because your works are as filthy rags before the LORD.

@@douglaspendergraft1055 To obey the Gospel is to believe in the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as the payment for your sins. Salvation itself doesn’t require any works. We can’t earn our salvation by works, and we shouldn’t trust in our works to get us to heaven either. I’m not against works after salvation. God clearly wants all who believe in him to continue on and become his disciples. He wants us to walk in the spirit so we won’t fulfill the lusts of the flesh. The Christian life should be lived out the exact same way we got saved. By faith. When we abide in Jesus we will live a happy life.

Todays gospel has been so watered down that it instructs us to only "believe" and then we are "good to go". But there is no POWER in this and it is NOT the gospel that the disciples of Christ obeyed in the book of Acts. "Believing" is the gateway to "Obeying" the TRUE GOSPEL. However, believing in and of itself is not a complete response to the entire GOSPEL. Jesus said "BELIEVE", yes that is true. But Jesus further expounds "BELIEVE AS THE SCRIPTURES CONTINUE TO SAY" (John 7:38) Jesus instructed His disciples to baptize. He didn't speak this directive just to give them "busy" work. Mat 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Why mention baptism in the scripture if baptism is irrelevant? Because it is relevant. Mar 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. Again, The disciples of Jesus Christ baptized. Joh 4:1 When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, Joh 4:2 (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) Peter is preaching the Gospel. He doesn't say, "for the few of you that feel the need to get baptized, go for it!" No, he says, "Be baptized every one of you..." Those that gladly received the Gospel that Peter preached got baptized. Those who rejected the Gospel he preached, didn't. Paul and Silas preach to the keeper of the prison. Paul says, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ." but he does not stop there. He preached the word of the Lord and as a result, the keeper of the prison and his household were baptized. In Acts 19:1-9, Paul is asking a "believer" if they have received the baptism of the Holy Ghost since they believed. They haven't heard about the Holy Ghost. So what does Paul start asking about? He asked how they were baptized. They had been baptized according to John's baptism of repentance. After Paul explained the gospel more clearly (since Jesus had since risen), they got Re-baptized. But this time, it was in the Name of The Lord. Because they repented and got baptized in the name of the Lord, God was obligated to baptize them in the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38), because it is His Promise (Acts 2:39) If you read further in Acts 19:8-9, you will see that certain people BELIEVED NOT and started speaking evil of the gospel that Paul preached. 19 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. 6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. 7 And all the men were about twelve. 8 And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God. 9 But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus. The response to the TRUE GOSPEL includes: 1) Repentance (acknowledging and turning away from sin) and 2) Baptism in the Name of Jesus and as a result, that individual shall 3) Receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Jesus tells what happens when we "BELIEVE AS THE SCRIPTURES CONTINUE TO SAY" John 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. John 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given ; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) Which Gospel of Jesus Christ will you believe? The one that the early disciples of Jesus Christ preached as documented in the Bible? Or the modified/simplified/modernized version that would be considered "Another gospel" by Paul. Paul says the person that preaches "Another gospel" is accursed. Galatians 1:8 But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. Galatians 1:9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed. Do yourself a HUGE favor. Don't take reckless chances with your salvation. OBEY the TRUE GOSPEL. Acts 2:38 clearly tells us that if we will 1) repent of our sin and 2) get water baptized in the name of Jesus, 3) then God is OBLIGATED to baptize us with the Holy Spirit. Why? Because Acts 2:39 goes on to say that this promise is for every single one of us! So, the question is simple: Have we done steps 1 and 2 so that God can perform step 3 in our lives?

Guess, you forgot about verse 11 in 1 Corinthians. James 2 is talking specifically about helping man, what doth is profit a man if you do not show your faith by your works. if a man comes up to you and needs food and water and you say "go on my brother and be fed and watered" without giving them water than that that faith did nothing for them. It does not justify you before God but before man.
