Can you make more simple for those with no math foundation...like, how did you get the 5/6 and 6/5.

Hi Patricia! In general, when workers work together on the same task, we add their rates. So 5/6 is just the sum of the two individual rates (1/2 and 1/3). Then, since Rate * Time = Work, we know that Time = Work/Rate. In other words, we can find the time it takes two people to finish a job together by dividing the amount of work required by the combined rate. 1 job ÷ 5/6 job/hr = 6/5 hr.
