This movie influenced my daughter to be non toxic while online gaming and do the right thing. This movie had a great message for the younger crowd and hilarious references for OG gamers. Edit: I do try to influence my daughter to be the best possible person, but kids don't always listen to their parents, (we're not cool to them) so it helps when there's wholesome content out there like this movie or Bluey that can positively influence kids.

In case you were wondering, Guy is an example of a bottom up AI. He is given a set of data to work off of and then learns from his surroundings and interactions to build itself from there. It is the opposite of a lot of AI out there where it is designed as is.

Yes Van Wilder and waiting were the first two movies I saw him in technically I saw him first in an episode of The X-Files but he looked different and I did not recognize that as the same guy, then later I saw just friends and Amityville horror he was pretty good in that one. In Van Wilder there was another little actor who was a side person in that movie someone named Aaron Paul AKA Jesse from Breaking Bad lol who coincidentally was also in an episode of The X-Files. Lol

Actually his last appearance was his last episode of Jeopardy on January 8, 2021. The episode was already pre recorded cause they new he wasn't going to be around much longer so they finished out his season before he passed. Alex passed on November 8, 2020 and Free Guy didn't come out till August 13, 2021. Free Guy was put on hold for a few years because of the Fox/Disney buyout. So his scenes in FG were already shot. Leo, this was all filmed in my hood. The beach (Revere Beach, 1st public beach in the U.S.) is 5 minutes from my house. The rest was filmed in downtown Boston which is 15 minutes from me.

28:24 - To answer this question, yes they did get the rights to use it. In fact, when they were in production, Disney had completed it's purchase of Fox. Ryan Reynolds and Shawn Levy (the director) came up with the idea of seeing if Disney could lend a couple of their properties to the film. Not only was Disney okay with it, they also provided the Captain America shield and Lightsaber props, both were screen used props from Marvel and Star Wars, that Guy uses in this sequence (which makes Chris Evans' cameo even funnier because of the fact that Guy is literally using the same prop shield he used in the films).

Plot hole: When Millie is walking through saying the various NPCs' catchphrases at them, she does it to Guy, too - "Don't have a good day, have a great day!" But... it's _meeting her_ that unlocks Guy out of his programming. So why was she saying his catchphrase at him when she clearly hadn't met him previously?
