I have a TS-2000, what kind of cable are you using between the rig and computer? Will the RS-232 work alone or do you need run audio into an external sound card from the AUX output. Also, the RS-232, is it just a standard adapter cable i.e., rs232 to usb or a special serial cable? Thaank you

I use it for tuning WebSDR radio and it’s actually a really decent way to listen to the hf bands and eliminate qrm from surrounding electronics. I love it a lot.

I have downloaded and set up both sides of the device control. I'm having a couple problems and my two or so questions are... On the PC side I run the server option and using cat control with a USB connection to my IC 7300. When I start the program the auto start box is checked but it doesn't auto start and my com port options are blank to the point where I need to select from the drop-down calm 3 for the ports so that I can start the remote program. Once started the j a r e c program seems to work without a problem. On the app side I can fire up the remote hold the power button and the radio turns on and off as it should. My problem seems to be that sometimes not always when I start the app and go to transmit I get absolutely nothing on the radio side in the way of my game or compression. initially noticed this when trying to contact parks on the air contacts with no response, and I noticed it very quickly. When I checked the radio the mic was turned all the way down to 0% and the compression was all the way down at The lowest setting. It also dims the display on the radio when doing remote, which is okay because I'm not looking at it. But if I use the f button in the app the mic and gain settings are set to my original settings, it's like it's not reading it from the radio or why would the radio set everything to zero on those two settings, the mic gain and the compression. Adjusting the FT settings on the phone app does nothing to change the radio remotely. If it goes to zero you're stuck. Because you can't change it on the radio remotely. Any ideas, anyone?

So I've gone as far as I can. The android now controls the radio. But, the mic audio and the rec audio dont come through the android. Still cant open jarec4. I see the mic port on your rig has some wires in it. Are you sending rx and tx audio to the computer through the sound card jacks?

you need to hook your mic and spk to your computers sound card audio in and audio out

When you used it from the remote location, was there any other setup that needed to take place to link in from an outside network?

yes, you will need to go into your home router and port forward 7042 to the pc that you run the jAREC client on. Then you will need to know your public outside ip address. This can change from time to time but could last as long as several months. But you can use something like free NOIP and get a name that will always be good. For example you might get a name like Yourcall.noip.com so from the outside you can always connect by going to yourcall.noip.com. if you public internet address changes it will automatically update to yourcall.noip.com

I really like the app, but it will not work with my IC-7100. Turning on the power supply does not turn on the remote head. I wish it did.

I use RCforb app (RemoteHams) with the 7100. Can control on/off for radio amp, and tuner with it. I've used Pocket app pro version (great app) for a long time just for SDR listening...haven't tried for Remoting yet,

Is there a physical interface between the computer and the radio or are you using the cat cable alone?

using a serial cable between computer and the radio. you have to set the radio baud rate to match your program baud rate. You also have to select the comm port that is being used.

depends on your radio. if you have a newer radio that has a sound card built in, just a usb cable from radio to computer. If you dont have sound card in radio you need to run audio cablle from computer audio out to radio mic, and another cable from radio audio out to mic in on computer.

@@w5kub found it, I tried to d/l radio config for my ftdx-1200 not available it said. I tried a couple of other yeasu's that have same config but not available. So guess I wait till one is available..thanks for replying..

@@michaelwaldon988 I don't think so at this time. My ft1200 works with hrd set on ft2000, ft3000 and ft5000 setting but there is no config file for any of these so far.

ok, im getting closer i think. i can authenticate into the software from my phone. however i can not get the cat port to open to the software. all the settings should be right but ive missed something somewhere. yaesu 847 if anyone has any good ideas?

not sure what password you are having trouble or what you mean by remote socket. if you try to access it from outside your home network, you will need to go into your router and port forward the port 7048 to the pc that is running the jArec client.

Windows blocks the program from running on my laptop so does Norton Antivirus.

just temporary turn off your antivirus program, and then you can start the program. then you can turn back on your antivirus software. or you need to check to see how to white list your program so you can start it with the antivirus on

I played around with this back in 2005 or so with an Samsung tablet. I asked the author back then if he would write one for iOS.....well it's 2025....guess not. So sad. No every one uses a Android cell phone.
