You know what blows me away? The way thile play these cascading notes like beautiful raindrops, he says so much, so quickly, and yet with a single note Edgar says just as much. Two ends of the sound spectrum. I love the magic of the mandolin, but each note of that bass goes deep as oceans.

It seems a sacrilege to suggest that this mando sounds better than his Loar F-5, but... that's what I'm hearing!

Absolutely stunning and inspiring. Is there any way I can buy just the DVD? I bought the CD a while ago unaware of a deluxe edition.

It's hard to watch coz I keep reaching for my mandolin and then being like "no! Keep watching" I have to start the video again and try to watch without being tempted to pause and jam.

What kind of pick is Chris using here?
@CosmicHippopotamus9 жыл бұрын
+Jordan Riehm Chris uses Blue Chip, I don't know how exclusively or what thickness/cut.
@MrMasterHat8 жыл бұрын
+Jacob G It's the Blue Chip CT 55, specially designed by Thile and used by Sierra Hull as well, I believe. It's quite popular, and very expensive - for a pick.
@Mandoluke88 жыл бұрын
+Jordan Riehm I believe this was before Chris was endorsed by Blue Chip. You can see at 1:27 he is most likely using a Wegen TR140. The pick he preferred before the CT55

+luke karmann thanks Luke, I knew it wasn't a Blue Chip.
