Up until just recently, I had no idea that the socialist-communist concept was implemented as far back as the 1800s. Like most people, I'd been led to believe that it was a spontaneous 20th century phenomenon. Thank you for this very informative video.

There were a good number of these "collective" societies formed in both Great Britain and the United States around the 1840s as a response to the growth of industrial factories and their dreary conditions. However, most of them, like Modern Times, collapsed or reverted to traditional governance once their founder or leader passed away or left. Also, Karl Marx wrote his famous manifesto in the 1840s.

I believe my family was there in modern times. I'm curious how I could find out. My family is from Brentwood and has people from in Brentwood cemetery with my mom's last name born in the 1800s.

My grandpa was an excellent farmer and built houses in Brentwood. I think he also went to that little school house as a child.

Very sad that Brentwood has gone downhill in the last 20 years. In the 1960s, many people from NYC moved into very nice developments. So many of these houses are in bad shape.

Some videos take all day because I have to travel to different locations, but this only included a small area so it took about 60 to 90 minutes.
