I loved your starting question! I have enjoyed being an Artist most of my life as well. I realized that I was and called myself an Artist after I left college and started working as a freelance artist. I have worked in so many different fields from little league photographer to computer instructor in art programs! I am currently working with watercolor and learning soft pastels, I am so excited to be back to traditional methods of creating and easing away from digital art. I believe that you are an Artist when YOU believe that your an Artist. NO Other person, No degree, No institution will make you an Artist. You have to believe yourself to be one then you are! Loved this video, Marla. Just wondering where you got the board you have your painting on? Is that particle board? I have a piece of plywood now but it is too heavy for my easel. I was also wondering what kind of black tape you are using?
