I am not sure, I mean there are plenty of free plugins developed for mac now. I haven't come across one exactly the same but its hard to keep track and I am not a mac users so I don't concentrate on mac centric developers just windows and cross platform. The closest thing I have used is Analog Obsession's relife but that is still very different. Maybe worth a look for you though

Unfortunately the “song” doesn’t help to show what it can do, but knowing their plugins it’s a good one.

Completely understand your point of view, definitely not going to be to everyone's tastes just wanted to try something different than my usual go to of acoustic drums, bass and guitars. For me I find the plugin is more useful on programmed electronic sounds than acoustic stuff (I use the more analog modelled plugins for that) but that's just me and you might find it more effective for other sounds.
