Started this yesterday! The much-needed change I am glad to have found when lifting was getting boring and I felt like I was even 'training'. Did my first workout yesterday, I had to drop the weights by quite a margin because of the short rest periods and I loved it! I found myself staring at the clock by the end of the volume giant sets, thinking 90s is also long. Training will never be the same. Thank you, sir!

I used this back in January and had fantastic results. Life was crazy at the time but I was also rehabbing a few injuries, so I adjusted accordingly. I only did the first section and adjusted the rep ranges. Medium day became 10, 8, 6, 4. Light day became 12, 10, 8, 6. Then I went into my rehab work. After 10 weeks I went to compete and was able to take 1st. Before starting the program I was thinking about pulling out because I didn't think I could build enough strength and rehab at the same time. Life is gonna get crazy again in about 1 month. I'm gonna pay for the E Book this time and go all out.

Note for anyone considering buying the program: there are lots of super sets with gear from all over the gym. For example, straight arm lat pull downs and snatch grip dl. This can be difficult depending on busyness of your gym and location of machines
@BrianAlsruheOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Why don’t you just use a band tied off right next to where your deadlift bar is? I also wrote that in the program as well. And what other supersets are spread out all over the gym? @@BrianAlsruheOfficial you're right Brian, I thought a little more creatively and I think they are doable. @BrianAlsruheOfficial2 жыл бұрын
The landline is supposed to be a rotational core exercise so I would replace it with either a banded wood chop that can be tied off on the rack that you were using or use weighted Russian twists. Something along those lines.

This is another great program. Definitely my favourite of all the ones you've put out on KZbin, and I think I'll definitely give this one a try, as I love the autoregulation aspect of it, and the fact that you just do as many sets as possible until you reach a total rep count, cause I've had many a time when I'm feeling really crap in the gym and physically unable to complete the prescribed workout, but if it's dependant on how you're doing on any given day, it's only as hard as it needs to be. I will probably add more bodybuilding specific work on top of this, but I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of the workout I'm too thrashed to add more work. Thanks for the great info you put out, and happy new year!

Brian, I have watched your program videos so many times I basically know them by heart, but I have this question. Almost every program has the VOLUME section after STRENGTH section, but the POWERBUILDER program does not. Why is this so? P.S. I am not saying that there's not enough volume in the powerbuilder, since I'm more sore doing it than I was on massbuilder and darkhorse, but I am just wondering, what is the fundamental reason that you structured it as such? Sending love and all the best regards to you and your family, hope the year 2022 treats you well!
@BrianAlsruheOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Typically because I try to throw more of a focus on conditioning for that one and when you do that, especially at the beginning of the workouts, something has to give. And I find that volume is an excellent trade-off for conditioning any day for the Vast majority of leftovers

Brian says it's a program about the most important things to do in the gym. My initial thoughts, "so this program only has farmer's walks, got it "
@BrianAlsruheOfficial3 жыл бұрын
Sadly, there are less farmers walks in there that I would like because most people complain that they can’t do those in their gym…

I don't know why. Even planet fitness has reasonably heavy dumbbells.

Love the vids bro. Been following you for a while and familiar with the stuff, but definitely subscribed and bought the program, 2nd one I've gotten from you. I recently had some upper back issues (I think I had the rare disc herniation) do you have any suggestions of blood flow to the area besides the "drop the weight"? It's a weird one as it's upper back and not lower. I've taken 2 weeks off, it doesn't hurt much anymore. I'd say I'm 95%, but kinda scared to squat and OHP as I don't know which one caused it.

I think it would depend on where the issue is but try Ssb neck stuff. The name of the exercise has left me at the moment but basically you do a good morning with nothing but your upper back. But it is an ssb specific movement

Hey Brian just bought the program... I have completely neglected my conditioning And have just been lifting for a long time. I felt like this style of training would be a more fun way to get conditioning work in. Any suggestions for modifications to the program. The main giant sets absolutely WIPE me out. Would it be wise to do a month with only the main sets before trying to tack on that assistance work?
@BrianAlsruheOfficial Жыл бұрын
It usually takes a couple weeks before your body will catch up conditioning wise so if it first you just need to only do the strength, giant sets, just do that for the day. Then the next week you can add a little bit more until you can eventually do the whole program. Just take your time and have fun with it. And thank you very much for the support brother!

Brian, I am interested in starting this program. But I am very confused on how to choose my weights on the heavy day, medium and light day. I get adding the weight everytime. And getting 80% of the top set. But what weight would I start of at? Would it be a percentage off my max in that lift. I.e deadlifts, on heavy, do I start at 50% of 1rm and then add? And what would I choose for the medium and light ? Your guidance would be helpful.

Me: Man, BJJ is really hard on my body. I’m just not recovering fast enough. I really need to dial down my lifting. I wonder what programs are out there. Brian: Here’s a free Minimalist program. It’s for the person where maybe you’ve prioritized something else in your life, like maybe BJJ… Me: 🙇♂️🙏

Just bought this program BRIAN! What is expected warm up for each workout day ? It's not clear if the very first round is for warming up or is there an expectation you complete an additional warm up before hand.Thanks
@BrianAlsruheOfficial2 жыл бұрын
You should do what you need to do for your training. But you should never jump into working sets ever, on any program in history without doing some sort of warm-up sets first. I have an entire dynamic warm-up that I have on my channel if you would like to check that out but warm-ups are going to be different for everyone because you have a different medical history than anyone else. Some people need a lot of sets before they’re working stuff begins, others need a lot of reps and others need to do a lot of pre-hab… but without knowing anything about you, your medical history, your training history or your goals, I can’t tell you what warm up would be right for your training. That would be like telling you the perfect lifting shoes for your feet. It’s personal preference and what you’re going to use it for
