I hear so many people talking about equipment but no one wver talks about software, how do you make your floor plans? How do you edit your photos? How does the software work for doll house plans? Is there software with 1 time payment every year or do you have to pay per doll house? How do you make your virtual walk through with 360 camera? All this i feel is the main part of your equipment since they all say you can just use your phone.... well how do you make a floor plan with photo i took from a phone? How do you record on your phone and get the video to computer in high quality?

Hello! In order from your questions: CubiCasa (free app on your phone) Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, but mainly outsourcing to third party editors. Matterport, but dollhouses aren’t really super popular. It’s mainly about the virtual tours but they’re getting less popular. There are some other softwares, some are monthly, some are per space. You make the virtual tour by following the directions for whatever provider you’re using. When you use CubiCasa to make floor plans, you actually just walkthrough videoing the entire house’s walls. It extrapolates the rest of the floor plan from the video. Depends on what system you’re using, but iphone to Mac is easy to do via AirDrop. Or you can always upload from your phone to google drive then download on your computer. Thanks for watching!

Sometimes I catch myself just browsing Zillow with no intention of buying houses but simply looking at the pictures and right away I can tell the difference in quality photos across different properties. Hey Jordan, I'm an experienced photographer but new to the business. I'm reading through your book and it's been a great read. That said, I have a quick hardware question - I have a 5D MK III already but don't have a wide-angle lens except for a Canon 15 mm fisheye. I wouldn't attempt to sell native fisheye photos, but do you think the distortion is correctable enough to warrant using until I can pick up a better lens? Thanks for all you do.

Hello! Glad you are enjoying! Canon 5D Mark 3 has the 16-35mm that is a great lens, either the L, L2, or L3 (I think?). There’s also the Sigma 12-24mm f4 which is a great lens. Then there are a myriad of primes. Off the top of my head, 14mm EF, 16mm EF. I would not use the fish eye at all.

Great content! I have a tough question about expanding the business. I hired a photographer and had them sign a non compete but found out they are stealing clients and opened up his own services. I went to the court house to serve them papers but if they don’t answer the door at their house when the police come the papers don’t get served so they don’t go to court. It’s been 8 months and they learned all my skills and still making money to this day. How do you stop this when you expand?

Agh, that’s frustrating. But, depending where you are, non-competes are actually not enforceable, since it stifles free market competition. Literally the only thing you can do, on your end, to try to avoid things like this happening, is just be as good of an employer as you can be. Be very careful who you hire, pay them more than fairly, and they will stay with you. But, you can’t stop assholes from being assholes, so, live and learn. Sorry that happened to you.

@@Swing4TheRing it would be worse than the GH5. Especially for video. Your budget would be better spent buying a super super nice MFT lens. Like the 7-14 2.8 A7iii is 8bit video and no 4k 60. I liked me GH5 far more

I could have an entire business just with my iPhone. In the context of a beginner, an iPhone is all you need. I have an actual video camera setup, but I still end up leaning towards my phone 70% of the time.
